Lounges in Adelaide

It was the new airport but i didnt look closely, I do hope they could scrounge some space post immigration. Great to have EK from Adelaide!

I agree: lounges pre immigration are barely worth it. Even the Virgin domestic one in Melbourne pre security is a pain
We have an Adelaide/Milan return booked in June/July on QF on Emirates codeshare. As long as Qantas keep the fares reasonable this will be a fantastic initiative for Adelaide. If their fares compare badly with Emirates (remember we are talking the same plane here) then lots of us in Adelaide will feel shafted

The only lounge I know of post immigration is the SQ lounge. Maybe there was once a room?

I don't believe there is room for another lounge airside, the airlines were consulted at design in a case of use it or lose it, with SQ the only one going for space.
Qantas did have an area reserved in the initial planning but decided not to proceed.

IIRC, it was an area between the SQ lounge and inward customs.

let's make the service a success and have heaps of WPs and WP1s (overlapping with business and first) and there will demand for a decent lounge. Wonder if it could be done?
Mind you if all this works out as intended and the prices work the absence of a lounge in Adelaide won't be a deal breaker

The current QC is now staying open for the emirates flight. Somehow I doubt they'll open up a new lounge. It is also hardly that difficult to depart via emigration in Adelaide.

indeed ;)

edit to add: especially if they have driven me there in a limo

Usually there is no queue for immigration. However last July we left on a domestic flight, thank god, for our trip to Europe. The queue for immigration however reached back to the security check point. SQ was delayed by an hour because of it. Not sure what happened.

Still the timing of the EK flight is very different to that of the NZ, MH, CX and SQ flights.

do you like it?...I reckon it's great. there is time to work and/or do some last minute preparation and wander down to the airport, have a rest in the lounge and be ready for a nap as soon as hitting the air

I don't know. Haven't used it or really thought about it. But it does give me the possibility to come in from Sydney after a full work day, meet the family at the airport and leave for OS. Emirates is also a great tie up for me as my brother lives in Barcelona and was previously in Munich. The old connection via FRA was ok but Barcelona would be an absolute pain using old QF options.

The Emirates timing out of Adelaide is great methinks. Just hope I gets to travel on it soon. :) And yes medhead, you are right, Immigration should be nice and quiet by then.
