Lounge in Melbourne

We are flying Melbourne to Hobart (Jetstar) Sunday 23/10/2017. The information supplied says our flight leaves from terminal 4. Looking at Lounge Buddy, is states there is no lounge at terminal 4. How long will it take to get from the closest Qantas lounge to terminal 4 ? It looks like the closest lounge is in Terminal 1.

Give yourself an hour to be more than safe. 45 brisk. 30 rushing with no stops.

Really only time for the lounge if you are flying HCO and have checked in online.Otherwise you can only drop bags 2 hours before then you have to walk to terminal1,go through security,then walk back,go through security all of which seriously eats into your lounge time.After security it is also a reasonable walk to the JQ gates.

for all intents and purposes QF have removed lounge access for JQ pax at MEL.

wise decision, it's a hike. But be warned, all the food outlets in T4 know how to charge the trapped flyers, take plenty of $$$ or consume nothing

an hour??? are you crawling there? It takes no more than 15 mins strolling to get from T1 to the T4 concourse on foot. I've walked it a few times. Not sure where you get an hour from.

I concure the walking time for me is 15 minutes +\- .
The shortest way is to walk through the VA terminal and enter T4 at the screening point between the VA terminal & T4.
Just don't mention your flying JQ to the security personnel here, as I've see pax redirected downstairs to enter T4 once they open their mouths.

Some maths ... join JQ bag drop 2 hours before departure.

Wait 5 minutes to drop.

15 minutes to T1.

5 minutes for security.

2 minutes to QP (3 for JL).

enjoy lounge for 20 minutes.

2 minute walk landside.

15 minutes to T4.

5 minutes security.

Up to 5 minutes to find gate.

Be at gate 25 minutes prior to departure (gates close 15 minutes prior)

I do it in fifteen. A slow walker, with stops, lines at security and a far gate would take a while, my estimate was an hour if you want to do it without thought of stressing.

Oops.. I just realised I meant leaving the lounge an hour before flight departure.

Yes an hour is long but navigating 2 security checks and the walk is quite a long way plus add in the walk from the JQ stand (which is remote at best) and it is definitely longer than 15 mins even if you ran

There is only one security check going to T4. And yes the walk to the gate probably adds another 10 mins. But it still doesn't take an hour to walk between them.

Note that JQ expect PAX to be at the gate 25 minutes before scheduled departure - 15 minutes and you may not fly.
