I am traveling to asia next week and my farther is a platinum member of qantas and we have the same name so I use his card. this leg from singapore to hong kong i am not flying qantas. am i still able to use the lounge although im not flying with them?

any help would be apreciated.

Regards,

James

You are not entitled to use it at all since you are not the Platinum Member.

Ih the member was travelling , he would be entitled to use the lounge regardless of airline being flown

Thanks for your reply Dave... He is not travelling but can i use his card seeing as though we have the same name?

thanks again.

As this is a breach of the T&C, if you get caught then your father could lose his FF status completely, along with any points accrued.

The risk is yours (and your fathers).

If you were travelling Oneworld, in most international lounges, they would ask to see the boarding pass and possibly the QF Platinum card. In my experience they swipe the boarding pass and your details appear on their computer screen and it would show that you have no lounge access.

Since you are not flying Oneworld you could try using your fathers Platinum card but the risk of getting caught is not worth it.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

Even when using Platinum Anytime access in an Intl lounge, they still tend to ask you for your boarding pass and scan it. (No idea why, but assume it's to keep track of something).

Singapore airport is actually quite a nice airport. There's a cinema, gardens, pool etc and quick tours of Singapore are also available if the transit is long enough.
