Lounge access with children

I have just returned from a trip which indicates the different attitudes.
My wife and I flew F and 3 children in economy ( kids with no status).
Sydney F lounge, no problems - straight in.
Dubai F lounge - eventually let all 3 kids in, but indicated that only 2 kids would usually be entitled to join parents.
London F lounge (Galleries) - only permitted 2 of 3 into lounge. They were actually rude and specifically stated " and don't think you can take 2 children in now and later come out and bring the third one in!" Very disappointing and upsetting for entire family - we had to split into 2 groups.

Who were the flights with? I assume status is with QF?

Rude comments from the Galleries attendants have been noted on here before. I have copped the rude and sarcastic comments at LHR before, but shrugged it off.

It is quite off putting isn't it...

The T3 Flounge service level is disgraceful. Come to think of it - our experience in the CCR wasn't much better.

QF 1 then QF 10
Wife and myself were Gold pre flight, now both WP.

Have had exactly the same treatment at T3 and T5.
In fairness to BA rules they do seem to implement them with everyone including their own elites.

There is a way to go about it though - clearly BA need to re-evaluate how they go about this.

Absolutely.
We weren't treated rudely at T3, only T5.
The BA Lounge Dragons are pretty notorious for delivering bad news in a typically condescending manner IME.

It was an absolute pleasure to guest in a random extra child for a stranded family at the desk once in T3.
One of those "MasterCard Ad" moments in fact

Been taking my kids into the SYD Flounge since 2007. Qantas treat families including OW families very well. Pity BA doesn't reciprocate!
That has been the case, even back in the 90's. In 1998 I was able to get 10 family members into the (now T1) MEL QP before four of use headed to Ireland.

I believe it was in conjunction with that promotion a couple of years ago that Qantas formalised the policy in a public sense.

I am heartened by the response you got at the Dubai F lounge. It looks like there could a glimmer of hope if you managed to get three kids in !

I was particularly concerned about getting access for the family at this lounge as the eligibility rules say that ALL children are counted as guests. Perhaps the Qantas agreement may give some latitude to grant access.
