Hello,

I am wondering if I can get some feed back from people who have may have booked on a SQ flight number via Virgin/ Velocity rewards for lounge access.

I was about to use the last of of Velocity Points to fly an in-law and daughter, both red velocity, ADL-SIN business reward seating on a SQ flight number (not VA code share). When I checked the condition it stated that lounge access is not available, is this correct. I have never experienced an airline that would not allow a business class traveler into a lounge regardless of if it being a reward booking. The lounge in ADL is SQ branded and I believe operated.

When I rang Virgin that said that 1 guest could access the lounge if I was travelling based on my WP status.

Can this be correct or is the agent wrong?

On a SQ marketed & operated flight, *A lounge access rules apply. They will have access to the SQ lounge.

If you are holding SQ Blue BP* for any SQ flt makes no never mind how you sourced your tix or what status you hold with any airline - the BP alone will get you access to any SKL J Lounge

(*Provided you didn't steal it that is!)

You came to the correct place to find the answer, i.e. AFF. Reservation agents generally have inferior knowledge about the nuances of lounge access rules, as they a) are mainly there to deal with reservations and b) don't have the experience that you do find amongst regular travellers. As a general guide chances are that any questions you have relating to airport matters (such as check-in times, through checking arrangements, lounge access, lounge opening hours) are best handled by a question direct to the company staff at the airport or lounge in question (which can be difficult to reach) or through a forum such as AFF (usually much easier this way).
