I'm doing a DONE4 in March/April which includes several flights into and out of LHR and my BA flights arrive and depart from Terminal 5. I haven't been to LHR since Terminal 5 opened. As a OWE flying in J on BA, will I get access to "Galleries Club" or "Galleries First"?

Galleries First :)

On departure that is - not sure about arrivals lounge...

Nice. I'll look forward to that. I had used the old First lounge in Terminal 4, but I was holding a QF First boarding pass at the time (which I was subsequently advised should have allowed me into the Concorde Room, but the BA lounge dragon directed me to the First lounge) so I just wasn't sure about the situation with a J boarding pass.

I also have a flight home on QF in the A380 which, of course, is departing Terminal 4...I imagine the one remaining lounge isn't very nice?

G`Day,

There are two so called “First Class” Lounges at T5. The “Concorde Lounge” is only for pax that hold a F boarding pass and the “First” for QF Plat., BA Gold members (OWM Emerald) etc., which is the same system that used to operate at T4.

To my best of knowledge, if you arrive on a F ticket (you must show your inbound boarding pass) and are connecting the same day to another destination (on a “one world carrier”) you are entitled to use the “Concorde” lounge. I have done this on a number of occasions without any problem at all.

Kind regards, Traveller F

I want to reactivate this thread to verify something. There have been quite a few posts recently about BA lounge access and these have raised an additional question for me.

When I fly out of Terminal 5 on BA next month, I will be travelling with Marge and Maggie. We will all be holding J boarding passes. However I am the only one with status.

From reading the other threads, it seems to me that all three of us will not automatically have access to BA's Galleries First lounge because BA is likely to enforce the one guest rule and that would leave either Marge or Maggie in BA's J lounge. Am I reading that right?

You are technically correct in that you are not entitled to a second guest (the same is true in all OW lounges). I think a lot depends on the age/size of the child (I will be taking [insert name here] to an F lounge with mrssimongr when he is born and do not expect him to be classed as a guest) I think.

I would suggest trying to get access but do not expect it.

Yes, we'll certainly try but it's good to clearly understand the rules just the same. Our daughter has just turned 3 and we travel everywhere with her in a carrier (no McPram for us) so if my wife or I carry her in then we might pull off access for all three of us. It's certainly worth a shot. BTW said daughter will actually be a Platinum FF after this trip...
