Lounge access on arrival for Platinums

A "lie" is a deliberate falsehood. This sounds more like this one reference was overlooked when the other references were updated. Hopefully it will be updated now. People do make mistakes - not everyone is out to screw you over with "lies"!!

Well, it's certainly untrue (i.e., false, or incorrect).

Funny that the one lounge location I have ever had problems getting into is at it again, in my case it was early AM with an onward OW flight.

But whether it's a moot point in the future is not what is being raised, above.

It's about access, now. Any of this is subject to change in the future, but we are discussing the current access rules aren't we?
The rules about WP departure access only for Qantas international lounges have been in place since February 2011.

I believe that contradictory Q & A has only been around a short time and was done incorrectly. I cannot find any indication of when that Q & A was specifically created/edited to read so, but I suspect it has been a lot less than 3 years.

It certainly cannot predate the Feb 2011 change since before that WP had anytime access to Qantas international business lounges and qantas clubs worldwide - no BP required.

Perhaps with the website 'enhancements' of a year ago.

This is the Qantas Singapore lounge not the International Business Lounge sounds rather like the pedantic Terraces vs Galleries BS. How ironic.

Sounds like you're confusing a few different issues here. The only total cancellation of flights events have been volcano related or the grounding. I'm unsure how a volcano would make staff "pretend" there was lightening. With the grounding I am not sure staff would hang around unpaid to disrupt passengers. Neither of those two events relate to any particular 'red' tie day that I recall.

Yeah whatever

I was under the impression that international arrivals access was removed a few years ago.

This is not the only inconsistency on the Qantas website.

The FAQ, no matter when it was created, is Qantas' own words, in thankfully plain English and is designed to inform Plat readers of their access into lounges (domestic and international) following a qualifying flight.

If the FAQ post-dates any previous 'change' then arguably it is the current policy not a wrong representation of a previous policy. Maybe the other wordings have failed to be up-dated!

But when the FAQ inevitably gets changed, we'll hear from Red Roo no doubt and we can again be so thankful for Red Roo's presence here. :(

Has anyone noticed that QF have changed the name of the SIN and HKG Lounge?

Instead of bering a Business Lounge, it is now an International Lounge.

Not that it may have any relevance to the topic (apart from the naming of the lounges in the FAQ's)

Yes, the whole answer just doesn't make sense, in the context of the question, does it?

When travelling domestically within Australia you can access Qantas Clubs and Domestic Business lounges when you are travelling on any flight the same day with a Qantas, Emirates or Jetstar (QF, EK or JQ ) flight number.

Shockingly expressed. Is the 'same day flight' the inbound one, or do they mean another out bound one? Why not qualify 'any flight' like the next sentence? If the latter, its describing just stock standard lounge access before an eligible flight, nothing to do with access on arrival (end of journey).

For Qantas owned and operated International Business lounges, your next onward flight that day must be either a Qantas, Emirates or Jetstar (QF, EK or JQ) flight number or a oneworld operated flight number.

... again, its simply describing stock standard lounge access before an eligible flight, nothing whatsoever to do with the 'question'. But the implied answer, because Qantas loves to keep things vague for its Platinum flyers, is that NO ACCESS ON ARRIVAL (END OF JOURNEY)

And in conclusion, in respect of the below, its a big Thank You to the Qantas Social Media Staff for taking only 3 weeks to turn this thread against its users and to get the FAQ changed to the current version, no matter how badly expressed.

Always good to have you on board.

I put it to you that the only difference between the work that the Qantas web people do, and the work that people on this board do, is that their work is open to the world to see. I hope every time people around here make a mistake they put a little 'I'm and intern' stamp into their timesheet! The wording is not wrong, just incomplete.

As noted in post 4, the FAQ was wrong!

As noted in post 30, the FAQ was just as legitimate / 'correct' as anything else published by Qantas and, given it was published later than other material, it was arguably 'more current'.

Posts here, just like Qantas' web site, are open for the world to see. One of the actual differences is that Qantas is a very large corporation, with hundreds employed on its 'loyalty' staff and many more in its IT (or its IT contractor), whereas posters here are just individuals (except Red Roo, the company rep); another is that millions of Qantas customers rely on what Qantas posts on its web site, whereas responses here are mostly anonymous and can't be relied on in respect to what airlines offer.
