I am flying Y on MH ticketed as TK flight ex MEL, connecting in KL to TK flight. So the ticketing carrier is star alliance and the operating carrier is OW.

I hold platinum status with Qantas and gold with SQ - but do I fall between a no access twilight zone between the two alliances in relation to accessing any lounge in MEL?

Please let us know. For accrual, Oneworld is largely driven by marketing carrier and star alliance by operating carrier. Not sure what the case is for status benefits.

Your would have no status based lounge access in MEL.

Ticketing carrier does not specifically relate to flight numbers. It is the "Marketing" carrier being what a flight number starts with. So, if your codeshare flight number on the booking begins with TK, that flight is marketed by Turkish Airlines.

The Qantas earning table refers to "Marketed" and "Operated". I'd think no oneworld lounge access or earning. Maybe with MH as your Qantas Platinum has no value with such a codeshare flight number.

For SQ earning, it relates to operating carrier see here:

According to the oneworld page it’s access based on where the flight is operated and marketed by a OW carrier: Airport Lounges: oneworld Lounges & Airport Lounge Access

And as you say, the corresponding star alliance page says access is granted (by status) for any star alliance operated flight: https://www.staralliance.com/en/lounge-access-policy
