I am about to change the date on a pre-existing ADL-DXB-LHR points booking. As currently booked, I'm in F and on EK all the way (777 then A380).

The available options for the revised date of travel are EK441 (777) for ADL-DXB then QF9 (A380) for DXB-LHR; seats are available in both F and J.

I'm considering calling Qantas to try to book a mixed-class ticket in F for ADL-DXB then J for DXB-LHR as this will save a few points if I can do it as a single ticket. Before I call Qantas (and probably wait in a queue for ages, as a NB), does anyone know if this is possible? If I have to book it as two separate redemptions, I suspect it will cost more and negate the point of the mixed-class plan?

I assume that for such a mixed-class booking, I will only get Business Class Lounge access in DXB as my onward flight is in J, and my arriving flight in F doesn't count?
