Hello
Looking for tips to get my luggage back. In 30 years of flying such a monumental stuff up has never occurred.
Baggage didn’t arrive after a short transfer at Warsaw with LOT airlines. Lodged a report straightaway with a lovely lady at the airport who assured us our bags would be sent to Amorgos port, Greece - apparently they do that all the time.

Somehow, our bags have been sent to Johannesburg!!! are are awaiting pick up.

Given our bags contain essential items including medication and there seems to be no contact number and we can no longer access the baggage claim lodgement NOR lodge a new claim we have not gone to Amorgos this morning at a cost of around $400, so that we can go to the airport and hopefully sort this out.

It seems that in Athens the lost baggage is handled by the airport, not by LOT itself. LOT appears to be uncontactable by phone, same with the airport lost luggage.

Does anyone have any tips on a) how to get our luggage back ASAP
b) how to get maximum compensation for this

thank you - sorry I realise this should’ve been posted as a question

Good news. The lost baggage people at Athens airport rescued the bags, just picked them up. We do have to pay for another ferry ticket, but oh well. At least we’ll have swimmers and hiking shoes now!

Glad it worked out OK for you but first rule of travel is always have your medication for at least a week in your carry on.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday
