Hi All

Anyone provide me with a reliable service?

I can provide you with my Drivers details. He and his brother and a couple of others work together and are fantastic. never let me down once in 15 years.

His Name is Nick and I will PM you his mobile number.

Anyone else interested please let me know.

Nick (and no it isn't me driving!!)

I have a driver that I use - it's not a hire car, but a silver service taxi (I think it's a Holden Statesman) and always clean (there is nothing worse than flying somewhere and getting into a grotty cab).

I SMS him my flight or pick up location, and he confirms. There's a group of them that work together, so if he can't make it then he lets me know who will be contacting me (driver name and taxi number).

Being a taxi though, it's not flat rate like a lot of the hire cars. If there's heavy traffic, your fare can cost more - but inversely if there's little traffic (like the morning trip from the city to the airport) then it'll cost much less :)

Slightly O/T, but I also have a driver that I use in CBR - same deal. As our head office is here, we also use him to transfer important clients between the airport and the office. My driver also remembers where my house is, so I can just get in and relax without having to give directions :D

Yet to find a reliable driver in Sydney, and I don't travel to other cities enough to search for one.

If you (or anyone else) wants details, let me know.

Nick - mind if I grab the details from you too? Always good to have a backup :)

At the moment my travel patterns are

SYD - based in SYD use a North West driver company who I use for all my bookings (personal and company)

MEL - Driver I use who is very reliable and has a few other drivers that he can use (he now drives a 7 series BMW but my rate hasnt changed)

BNE - I use the airtrain inbound

ADL - Just a regular cab

Thanks!

Melbourne details sent to you!

Cheers,

The popularity of a chauffeur is directly related to some of the taxi drivers doing the airport run.
Some of these folk seem to have won their licence in a chook raffle and we only began using a reliable chauffeur service after being scared into making the change.
If you have had a taxi ride that could be called "Mr Toad's wild ride from hell" you can understand why we switched for PERTH,MELBOURNE and SYDNEY .
Chris in Sydney and Bill in Melbourne have both beaten my expectations and I can PM you if you need the detail.

Didn't you know you can get your cab licence by cutting out the barcode on 2 weeties boxes and sending them in with a stamped self-addressed envelope??? ;)

By driver used to drive a cab until the changes came in in 2008 and jumped in chauffer cars to slow down a bit. He is busier now than he has ever been!

Hi Cove,

I realise this thread is a bit old now, but I need a chauffeur in PER and MEL. If you are still happy with the guys you mention above I've love to get their details from you.

I've had a couple of recommendations for MEL, but nothing for PER. Surfing the web isn't helping, mostly out of date websites and/or quite ridiculous pricing estimates.

Sane pricing, in my view, is about the same as a premium taxi ride + say 10-20%. I've had quotes ranging from 200 up to 400 for a one-way airport run from my suburban place which is 30 minutes south of the CBD .. quite silly.

Others reading this post - anyone have a clue who Emirates uses for their chauffeur service? I've not used it myself else I'd know the answer, but presumably they are clean and reliable or the airline wouldn't contract them....possibly worth a shot???

Just sent you some details for a driver in MEL.

Thanks for the advice all - I'll contact the recommendations and see where we end up.

Really appreciate the advice of people who have first hand knowledge, having used the services.
