Longest time to get Lifetime Silver??

LOL. Not with my luck. ;)

Last year I rang up the Premium Centre to dispute SCs being credited at the wrong rate for a SYD-DRW-DIL-DRW-SYD trip that I took and they said that if I was worried that I wasn't going to get enough SC's to retain for my membership year to ring them up before the end of that year to talk options with them (I didn't need it...got over the line myself).

Recently I had to dispute the same sectors again, and again I was told the same thing...if I was disputing because I was worried about SC's for retaining my status for another year then a phone call later in the year could fix that.

In reading this thread it is interesting to see how things with QF are so consistently inconsistent.

I believe Qantas has been using random scripting in the call centres for a few years.

Took me just under 5 years, but reckon the run to LTG will be harder and I want that one way more!

March 2009 - January 2014 = LTS

Since then I've added about 500SC :p

I joined Qantas frequent flyer on July 2009, and made life time silver on February 2014.

Now have 7,930 so Life time Gold is possible but it could be 9 years away.

One of our esteemed moderators Straitman boarded a flight this morning which will take him over the 14,000 threshold to be life time gold by the end of the day or whenever Qantas update their system, so I better post in the other thread, thanks Pushka.

Maybe this needs its own thread, for those who reached Life time Gold.

There is such a thread. ;)
I would post the link but cant do that with the app. Its in the QFF area and started by JohnK.

Point of order: the "Status credit" system (previously called "tier credits") was not introduced until late 1998 (IIRC?) so no-one at all has taken more than 16+ years to achieve any kind of lifetime status.
Indeed! "Tier Credits" were introduced from September 1998.

Joined July 2006. Reached LTS in late 2013, reached LTG 3 weeks ago.

I know that it only started in 1998...what I was lamenting when starting this thread was the amount of flying I did between Apr 1991 and 1998, which was more considerable than after.
Still 17 years was a long time! lol
I wonder what I will get from Qantas Loyalty when my 25 years membership comes up next April?

I myself have over 250 eligible QF flights 1994-1998 that are not included in my lifetime tier/status credit tally.

Finally made it today with the 50% SCs from last flight in September (Had to phone QF three times to get them credited since I part used a Voucher.)

Member since March 2002. Travelled some 1.5M miles on OS trips since 1977 but too many other airlines unfortunately to be exclusive to QF and get LTG. But I'm impressed with LTS finally.:)

Finally ticked over and hit 7005 life time SC yesterday on an Iberia flight from FCO > MAD.
That effort took close to 7 years to achieve, although I was very inactive for the first two years as I hadn't discovered AFF until a few years later that gave me all the inspiration to travel :)

Now for the hard slog to 14,000 SC to reach LTG.

Not sure how long it will take me. Could be around 25-30 years as a member of the program (or maybe more) by the time I reach LTS. After 15 years I will still be well under half way.

Congrats. Welcome to the club.

So far it's' taken me almost 29 years to amass a total of 6,372 status credits so I should've knocked off the additional 628 required by 11 Sep 2016 which will be my 30 year date of joining anniversary.

Looking forward to 30 years myself soon

Joined July 93 and 1494 SC's.

Amazing what could have been with my travel in the 70's and 80's with Ansett and Qantas

I joined QFF in 1994 however took and irregular flying takes a long time to get some status. From late 2008 to mid 2013 I achieve LTS, mainly due to work and I have continued to aquire status. I am presently at 9005 due to a different job role which removed my need to fly so often, the handbrake on my quick status rate. My changing plans to be based in UK have me looking at how the QFF will serve me in the near future.
