Lonely Planet low price guarantee for hotel bookings is false

I just searched for a hotel in the hotel booking site of Lonely Planet. July 20-21 they ask 142 Euro per night for the Manila Hotel. In Discount Hotel Room, Cheapest Hotels, Budget Travel Deals, Budget Room it is only 117 Euro per night on the same date. A difference of 25 Euro per night! LP gives the best rate guarantee, but it seems to be false!

You could always try contacting Lonely Planet and informing them of that fact, then seeing whether they will either match or beat the price you found.

A lot of places that have "lowest prices guaranteed" have a similar pledge (i.e. find a price cheaper and they'll 'do something about it').

Was the hotel marked as a "special internet rate"? AFAIK this is the only rate guaranteed to be the lowest.
