Oh really. I am going to have to find a way to keep track. Out comes the old excel spreadsheet I am thinking.
Why bother? It make not difference once you hit LTG. There is no LTP or LTPG for those making another threshold.

I guess you are right not much point. I wonder if QF store them away still as maybe one day they might introduce say LTP??? They must retain them as you still need to qualify for WP each year but I guess do they retain your running tally or just your status year SC's.......

Because I want to!!!

FWIW, I'm now at over 19K LTSC's ... 15K earned in the nearly 6 years since joining AFF* ;)

*and 4K in the 8 years of TC/SC before then ...

As a LTG, does that mean that you only need to get 800 SCs (1400 minus 600) to qualify for platinum in any one year, or do you have to accrue the full 1400? Also, does the LTG FF card say lifetime gold or do you get a new one each year?

You need 1200SC's every year to re-qualify for WP, regardless of your Lifetime SC's.

To obtain it, you still need 1400. LTG just means you'll never fall below SG.

Any current Platinum member requires 1200 SCs to requalify.

LTG card says "Lifetime Member" and has a "Member Since" date and no expiry date.

Yes but if you're LTG, you're currently Gold so that would mean you wouldn't be 'requalifying' but you'd be 'qualifying', therefore the need for 1400 SCs. So do you need 800 SCs or 1400 SCs . . . or have I missed something entirely?

Bob,

Congrats, hope most of your SC's were via international J Class. The thought of getting to LTG with my current flight patterns makes me physically ill...

I did explain it for you above (silly 10 character rule!)

No, you may currently be Gold or Platinum depending on previous year's SC earning. Its no different to anyone else starting the year as Gold or Platinum. If you are Gold at the start of the year, your yearly tally of SCs gets reset to zero and you need 1400 to reach Platinum. If you are Platinum at the beginning of the year then your yearly taly of SCs gets reset to zero and you need 1200 to retain.

All that Lifetime Gold means is that even if you do not earn the 600 SCs normally required to retain Gold, you will still retain your Gold membership. Your yearly tally of SCs still resets to zero the same as everyone else's and you need to 1400 or 1200 SCs to attain or retain Platinum status.

i only hope one day LTG turns into another level so i can enjoy the First lounge for the rest of my life, regardless of travel pattern. Bring on LTP or Mr. Joyce please, please I would dearly love Chairman's Lounge.......

Thanks gumpy - at a guess I would say about half was intl J. The rest accelerated by many weird and painful discount Y trips like travelling BNE to PER via SYD MEL ADL. Am I crazy or what? I think that Qantas at least should give me a flash certificate in return - like my one for crossing the equator.

If you required 28,000 sc's to get it would it be too much?

I remember lifetime silver was a non-event - just received a letter - saying they would send me a LTS card if I dropped back from WP. Remember the "good old days", when Qantas would give you an impressive certificate signed by the Captain every time you crossed the equator. :(

Correction - it was signed by the chief pilot

Had a couple of those plus a couple for crossing the International Date Line. Lost them all in one of many changes of residence.:(

Congrats! Ahhh, I dream of LTG. I think I'll be an old man by the time I get there!!
So much time sitting in a flying tin can.

If my recent experience with having Jetstar points credited is any indication, may be worth your while to 'claim missing points' through Qantas FF site to give Jetstar a push along. I have had Jetstar points/SCs take 2 months to come across. Their admin is chronic.

Congratulations.

Some people like to remember how many SCs they have earned even after reaching Lifetime Gold.

I am not quite there yet but every flight gets me closer. ;)
