So who's starting a QFF account today (Feb 29- leap year) to see if you get four years of status, since Feb 29 won't roll around till then ?

Wishful thinking I know, but it's almost worth grabbing another Woolworths Everyday Rewards card and starting a new QFF account just to try it out.

Maybe someone who has a membership that starts on Feb 29 can tell us what their renewal date is in their account.

A little late I am afraid - starting today or any time this month would have given you a 28 Feb 2013 Qualification date. You would need to have started in Feb 2011 to get a 29 Feb 2012 qualification date.

The end of my membership year is Feb 28 and it's showing that I have until today (Feb 29) to get to Platinum. Weird.

Code to handle end of month weirdness in date calculations is pretty well understood - even QF IT would get this one right I think! ;)

So is everyone's end of membership year pushed to the end of the month they joined? Here was naive old me thinking it was the day you joined!

Medibank Private billing system was down this morning, the Chiropractor had to backdate to yesterday and all worked fine...

Given the problems NAB and CBA are having today, I would not want anything associated with the 29th Feb!

I doubt it has anything to do with the 29th Feb.

Banking systems generally seem to have suffered from some instability over the last 12 months or so.

Says something about the quality of that system!

Mind you, I question the quality of the banking system in general given how many times it seems to have fallen over in recent times!

Well its a good thing their systems only work 5 days a week in theory, imagine if they had to work in real time!

In the case of NAB it is very much a Feb 29 issue for its health banking!

Leap year blamed for HICAPS stumble

I agree with oz_mark on this.

The leap year seems like a good excuse to hang their collective hat on. The cynic in me does not believe them though :!:

Im happy to be seeing the end of Feb 29, as an analyst I have needed to always consider the extra day in my calculations. Now I can go back to 365 in my calcs [which will be an adjustment after using 366 for the past year *shakesfist*]
