Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

they told me the other week to call up before coming but I said I want to know when booking what is happening. Seems totally random on when it's open

I'm contemplating using the notes section when making a reservation that the reservation is only valid provided that the lounge is open and a full refund will apply otherwise. (I tend to mostly book in advance using the cheaper rooms.) BTW, happen to be on the 8th floor this week....the one that was masked off earlier for a while. Was told the A/C's had been replaced and they still have the plastic film over the wall control....otherwise I can't see anything different over the 9th floor.
My queries suggest they only close when no one is using the lounge but I'm not convinced. Staying next month so I might get in touch the week before...I want to use the lounge!

Thanks for the reviews guys - especially the armagnac photos puppysparks! :)

I tried the compare tip you suggested but the list of services that get compared dont list exec lounges. Where do you look to find that?

On a side note, checked into the Brisbane Sofitel tonight & welcomed me as a platinum but said they didn't participate in the program, but would honour the room upgrade but not the lounge access. However they said they will be participating from 1 July so stays after this date will have lounge access.

Hopefully this mean those current Oz sofitels that are exceptions will convey the full benefits like the rest of the Accor group.

As i am about to become Platinum Member(living in Brisbane) for first time i would be very interested if this participation from Sofitel Brisbane regarding the lounge access side of things has actually come about at all or was it just a myth ? Many thanks !

Neither Sofitel Brisbane Nor Sofitel Sydney allow you access to the lounge if you are Platinum. You must 'buy' your weigh in.

So true - the Brisbane and Sydney Pullman's put their Sofitel counterparts to shame.

Stayed at Hyde Park Pullman for 5 nights just prior to Christmas and gotta say it did nothing to tempt me back. No mention of upgrade or late check out, 1 bottle of water then another 2 days later having been sent to wrong room lol. Had a rant on tripadvisor about it and sure enough the manager was in contact to offer his personal assistance if ever i return .Intend doing so with family in August so will be sure to be in touch for his "assistance" as a Platinum member ! Compare this to Novotel Manly Beach, upgrade, late check out, drinks, newspapers, bottle of wine and 1 hours worth of canapes and free drinks 1 night to "appreciate our Gold Members". Lord knows what you get with Platinum ???????????

Interesting as I've had the exact opposite experience from both those 2 hotels - nothing from Novotel Manly but everything from Pullman Hyde Park.

Never can tell

Wow - I am currently deciding between Manly Novotel or Pullman Hyde Park - seems like a flip of the coin - hoping for the best. Using my complimentary night with Advantage Accor Plus and also a Platinum member.

Pullman Hyde park was fantastic when we stayed and I've only ever heard good things. Also, the manager was female..

Booked two rooms, lounge access for both, free drinks at the bar for all. Two bottles of wine in room (given two rooms booked). Exec lounge staff very efficient and helpful...
