We are departing LAX for BNE tonight and have a question about the lounge access. I am Platinum but putting excess flights to AA.

I was told in Brisbane, when I changed from my QFF to AA FF, that all I needed to do was flash my phone with the qantas app showing WP, with the boarding pass to get access.

Is that right?

If your boarding pass shows you as a one world emerald, flying on a one world flight, I believe that is sufficient to get you access to the F lounge.

If it had my QFF number it would, but because it has my AA number it doesn't. The question is whether I can show my QANTAS app which shows I am WP to get access?

Why use an App?

Do you have your WP card?

Now to gain access, with rule changes last uear, they may want you to be crediting the travel to QFF to gain access. If so, let them do it then change it back once admission is gained.

The app I don't know about but why not just show your membership card? That should be sufficient.

Only hit WP earlier in the week so no card. QANTAS app is the phone app, showing status, domestic boarding etc.

Currently sitting at LAX waiting for booking to open. Might ask if she can change to QF, print the boarding pass and change back. Saw in another post that they print "congratulations on reaching platinum" on it which would be pretty cool. Guess I am at the mercy of the check in agent with that.

If the system is showing your old QFF status, get them to completely remove the number then add it back in, thereby reflecting the new status... then change as required.

Not sure why the reply didn't post. The agent changed it just to make sure there was no problems. She said I could change it upstairs. Just had a nice minute steak with greens and mushrooms with a glass of Mumm. Now waiting for my lamington trifle to arrive. :)
