I'd planned to fly BNE-SYD-CBR on 30 Jan and was ticketed in Business, but a couple of weeks back I was involuntarily changed to a Dash8 SYD-CBR.

Searching both qantas.com.au and expert flyer, it seems there's no longer ANY business flights on this date, only Dash8s flying.

Has this been observed in the past, and is it likely there'll be more changes in the coming few weeks so that i can call up and fix??

Other acceptable options would be BNE-MEL-CBR instead, perhaps even BNE-SYD-MEL-CBR. But would QF likely do this, or insist on the direct E190 flight BNE-CBR when i phone up?

Any tips on handling this?

There are also days now where Qantas is exclusively using Dash 8s (so no J available) on MEL-CBR. Not sure what's going on but even ADL-CBR, HBA-CBR and BNE-CBR are seeing Dash 8s now at times. I don't love this development as a CBR local.

Given the expanding A220 and A321 fleet, I was hoping for more love for us getting new aircraft

Could you not just take the direct flight and then claim ORC?
BNE-SYD-MEL-CBR would earn more SCs, if doable, particularly as this is a DSC booking. I had intended catching up with friends for coffee along the way too.

And I'd rather not fly the Embraer J

Recently, I had a schedule change on a J reward OOL-SYD-CBR, and was offered OOL-SYD-MEL-CBR in J, which I accepted. Much better timings too.

And what's wrong with the Ebraer in J?

Hazard a guess Matt but the government directed cuts to public service travel is starting to bite. Qantas are simply adjusting to lower demand.

The usual frequency of A220s on CBR-MEL doesn't seem to be returning until the end of January.

Until then, some days there's a single daily A220 flight, and otherwise nothing but Dash-8s.

Can't find any mainline 737 flights in the upcoming schedules for CBR-MEL and CBR-BNE. There used to be at least one a day on CBR-MEL in the recent past, and historically there used to be plenty of them in and out of CBR.

I think the only time that a Qantas 737 visits at the moment is the once daily flight to Perth.
