Are you or your companion QP member or have oneWORLD status of Sapphire or Emerald?

If none of these you might not have access.

This is one of the better AA lounges that I have visited in the LOTFAP.

It is relatively new as I believe that it only opened a couple of years ago and reasonably comfortable.

It has a reasonable selection of drinks (you will get drink vouchers if you have QC membership / QFF Gold status) as well as some food for purchase.

There are also shower facilities and internet access.

I have only ever visited the lounge in the morning after arriving in LAX from MEL.

If you are OW Emerald (QF Platinum) then the Flagship Lounge is even nicer.

Here is a link to the lounge details on the AA website

Yes I am a Qantas club member..

Spent quite a few hours there on two occasions last month. Overall it is quite nice. You have to pay T-mobile rates if you want to access the internet with your own laptop but they have several of their own computers available for free. The layout is rather sprawling and there is a separate play room for kids etc.

My only gripe was that the free food / drink offering falls well short of QP. You get (somewhat lukewarm) coffee & tea with no milk, only that half & half stuff (which I don't like). After that there will be some basic biscuit / snack type offering. There is a selection of sandwich type food available to purchase, the quality is good with average price around US$9. As others have said, you do get a couple of free drink vouchers per person which is nice.

The Admirals Club part of the lounge, where you will have access as a Qantas Club member, is ok. It is comfortable and a typical Admirals Club lounge. Be sure to ask for your drinks vouchers when you arrive. Don't expect much in the way of food and the bar tender will expect a tip. There are several PCs in this lounge.

The Flagship lounge is very nice with food and open bar. But you need to be travelling international First class or Qantas Platinum (OneWorld Emerald) to get access to that part.

Have spent many happy hours in this lounge. Bar is 'around the back' from the check in desks but if you turn left (when facing the counters) and go right down the end you'll get a quite corner with a seperate coffee/tea service area.

The shower area is great - but you need to go to the counter staff and hand in your boarding pass in order to get a key for a shower cubicle. After a shower I usually head for the bar, where you get basic snacks (as others have said, cheese and crackers, pretsels etc only) and soft drinks for free.

As a QP member you'll get vouchers for alcoholic drinks and the lovely QANTAS lady last time told us to come back if we wanted more! Definitely tip the bar person ($1.00/drink is pretty standard) and you won't need more than two drinks for a 'pleasant' flight - trust me!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

If one had a few extra hours to kill before catching QF94 would you go to the T4 lounge (Flagship) or the new TBI lounge?

Thoughts anyone?

Assuming you are connecting from a flight arriving at T4 then definitely use AC/FL as applicable first before heading to the horrid mess that is TBIT. If you aren't arriving on a flight at T4 then no access to the AC/FL and no point turning up at the airport early.

The interim TBIT lounge is ghastly. I did a report on it on FT.

Yep, given the choice I would be in the T4 FLounge. But you can't get access to the lounge unless you are arriving on an AA domestic flight into T4. You cannot get past the security check-point unless you have a boarding pass for a flight departing T4.

I spent eight hours in this gorgeous haven earlier this year and I will always love the lounge for this.

I was at the end of a 4 week trip - the last two weeks I'd been really ill and still wasn't very well at all when I landed at LAX.

Using this lounge was just nearly the highlight of my trip as I could not deal with LAX for 8 hours and had no energy to go anyway. Somewhat like an oasis for me. I sat listening to the bose listening posts, checking email, I ordered the caeser salad (which was way too salty) and got to watch CNN uninterrupted. The showers were fantastic and as soon as I ventured out into TB I realised how fantastic my time there was - TB was just... a total horror.

If you land in Terminal 4 and have a layover definitely visit the lounge!
