Latest information about 28 degrees card

Not always. I received a replacement card last year after a previous card expired, can’t remember which bank/provider it was as I have several credit/debit cards, but I was horrified when it said in the letter that “there’s nothing you need to do, the card is already activated” as if they were doing me a favour!

I had that with NAB CC. I called them up to remind them what a terrible practice this was, and they seem genuinely surprised that I would complain about it.

O/T, sorry, but I just received a new CommBank ATM card (old one expired) and its pre-activated, ready to go! Just stupid.

Yeah. I now put a temporary hold (lock/freeze, different names with different banks) on any new card coming out until I get it in my hand. Too risky otherwise.

They have one of those automated checks now for new applications and limit increases - so I’m trying to work out the magic numbers. An “income” of around $35k is sticking in my memory? But whether that needs to be 3 or 6 mths history…🤷‍♂️

I tried to do a limit increase last year but because I was only paying myself a directors fee direct to super the salary check wasn’t going to work and the rest of the request went pear shaped quickly - despite having more “income” than one would expect to need.

I was thinking of paying myself the equivalent of the min salary amount for say 3 mths to see if that satisfies the bot.

If it’s your company then why not just lie and then fake up a payslip?

I’d rather keep it reasonably legit. I presume the automatic check accesses the ATO employment and pay history. There’s continuous employment being posted monthly. I would just need the requisite $ amount and history.

No cc checks ato records or pay history etc. It’s probably not even legal, if it’s even physically possible (I suspect it’s not technologically possible, either).

Why do you think they hire buffoons in the third world to try to read your return and NOA and then ask for more useless info?

If I know I have the income to support my application I just write whatever will make my life easier in the boxes and give them the paper they want to see

You should have your "Notice of Assessment" from the ATO - at least for the 21-22 year. (Don't need to submit 22-23 until May.)

Is that not sufficient?

Nope! I did that and they still wanted more. The humans are incapable of making a decision but the bot will approve immediately if you “tick” the right boxes…

When they started asking for copies of rental agreements (for investment properties) I knew it was time to chuck in the towel…
