Lovetravellingoz, this is my backpack from when we did the 4 day Machu Picchu hike. It too became my carry-on for most flights on that trip.

Yes quite similar, though the Escapist is also made for cycling as the body position is a bit different than when walking.

The helmet feature which secures te helmet quickly and snugly is also very handy as it saves having to carry the helmet or have it dangling. Many Europeans do not wear helmets, but my wife had a very serious cycling accident once and probably would have died if she had not of been wearing it at the time (she was off work for 6 months recovering). So she does not ride anywhere/anytime without a helmet even if local laws to not require it and so I know that she would value this feature.

I think this is my most fav post ever on AFF! Love the ingenuity

Nah. Bindi just wanted an excuse to buy choccie biscuits.
Mine is dark grey. No wiggle room there.
And mrs.dr.ron's bag is purple. Mmm. Grape jelly maybe?

You should have seen me rattling thru the kitchen cupboards trying to find something with a brown label. Finally went to the fridge to get some water as saw the mint/choc biscuits there, sent hubby out onto verandah to get the pack of Tim Tams stashed in backup fridge there for when our daughter comes over and eventually asks "mum, you got any chocolate in the house? "
(it's a 45 minute return trip into town, so I have to keep supplies - that's my excuse)

I haven't read the whole thread so not sure if the Baggalini "Kindred" tote has been mentioned. Mine is burgundy with a bright orange lining which I didn't like at first but does make it easy to see what's slid down to the bottom of the bag. I use it without the long strap as I'm very short and it looks more handbag-like with the two handles over my shoulder. Back in 2014 eBags wouldn't ship to Australia so Iit had to come via the expensive and complicated MyUS.com site. Now they ship via Borderfree, which should be easier and their website shows AU$ pricing. In use it is fine, but has almost too many pockets. I thought I had lost the two small locks I use to secure my Antler trolley backpack zips and actually bought replacements at a tiny subway shop in the middle of Tbilisi (not easy to explain what I wanted with no common language!) - only to find the originals deep in an unexplored pocket much later in that 5-week trip.

Here's a Lowepro shoulder bag that may suit some people, both for m/f, not as big as so of the others here, but on special at COTD for ~ $10 + p/p:

I like it ! I just might buy it for drron - nobody tell him its a handbag - I will tell him its a camera bag for our Japan cherry blossom trip ;)

It IS a camera bag. :p. You may also find it in Big W on special for a similar price right now if you're near one.

Just looked at BigW online and they have a " Lowepro StreamLine 250 " for $15 and in stock at our local W . I will check it out tomorrow ! thanks :D GMOH

Just an update on my baggallini ! It left the "Amazon facility in San Bernadino CA " on 1/ 2, "Package arrived at a carrier facility Los Angeles, CA " on 2/2, It was in New Jersey on 3/3 (!!!!!!) and " Package arrived at destination country " today :D now how long to get to the Sunshine Coast??

I wish I could earn FF miles for what my bag travelled ;) ;)

Our seven year old bought the orange one and used it for a week in Fiji. Was light enough for her to manage and worked really well

Checked out the Lowepro at Big W today. It's OK DrRon, definitely does not look like a hand bag.
Like the extension zip, but alas still would not be big enough for my lappy.

I think we need a new thread to help BindiB get a good size laptop for travel ;).

I made the mistake of using the screen size 11" when looking for a bag, but of course the size of the slot needs to be 12" - the size of the lappy.
The only time the lappy needs to travel is to/from the airports, so I figure it can just ride sideways.
The most important cargo "Missy" (our cloned travelling rabbit) fits perfectly in the Baggallini.
