I suspect this is a side effect of the EK QF alignment.
Or preparation for what is supposedly going to happen on the 18th May ?
Cant find anything to the USA. So just parked the points just incase. There is no U availability as well. Even this far out to 2014.
STRANGE!
Agreed.
Have my SYD-DFW JASA's locked in 29/3/14.
Starting to wait for LAX-SYD (or MEL/BNE) releases for lateish April, but nothing at all is coming out in U.Or even X.
Your AKL one is interesting, and an option I havent really played around with.
Grabbing a LAX-SYD-AKL JASA (which does appear to have somewhat more availability) and dropping the last leg.....
I've been watching U releases to LAX over the last few days and as you say there have been none. It may be related to school holidays of Easter 2014.
That'd perhaps explain no 'cheap' JASA's, but would still expect to see the 'astronomical' ones given that seats were actually for sale on those dates.
But there was just "N/A" reflecting zero availability.
But now,can go in and find JASA's SYD-LAX for 17 April '14, and also some J Classic availability LAX-SYD (but not showing as cheap JASA), all of which was definitely not there over the last couple of days....not sure whats going on.The release patterns have been pretty consistent through my constant monitoring of the last 2 months, but the last 1.5-2 weeks has been a bit strange....
I booked a JASA today for April 2014 (MEL-JFK). 128k points plus $617 which basically cost me $164 more than a classic but with 280 SC's and 23k FF points.
Question: when people say "a JASA at classic rates" do they mean it literally? I have never seen this.
AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements
Yes and no. They mean a JASA which has been based on U class availability, and with +++ only slightly more than a classic redemption (if all converted to cash, using only minimal points).
Literally, it is at "classic rates" because the U class is being used for pricing, but the actual payment amounts ( both points and cash) can never be made the same ( when points for both are aligned at the minimum, then the cash required will be more for the JASA than for the classic).

Good one!
As I said above, all appears back to 'normal' now with retrospective availability, just a strange vortex over the last week or so.
Was your JASA available a few days ago, or did it just appear today?
Nice. How about the return flight?
I was looking at BKK-xSYD-MEL about a week or 2 ago and there was some high pricing but I can find JASA's for about 200k or 120K plus co pay of $760.
Looking at SIN a year out there are no good JASA's.
If you're flexible about which city you want to go to in the region I usually have no problems finding JASAs for CGK even a month or so out.
Last time I went I paid 120k points plus $548 for MEL-SYD-CGK return.
