With the Amex Platinum Membership Rewards changes from 2:1 to 3:1 from October for KrisFlyer I am planning to convert enough Amex points before the changes for 2 x J return Saver awards to Europe. I would need 522,000 KF miles (130,500 x 4) and currently only have just over 4000 KF miles. After converting the KF miles needed from Amex I will only have approx 112,000 Amex points left so not enough if I wait until the 3:1 conversion rate comes in. Since I am now retired I don't build up Amex points as quickly as when I was working and running a business.

SQ seems to still have the best reward availability when I check what is being released at the moment as I don't see regular BA or CX J seats being released like they were in the past, and as a Bronze QFF member nothing is available with QF either so I think SQ is the best option. We have an upcoming trip to South America and Antarctica in January with a paid J LH RTW fare but have no more plans for Europe for at least a year. I know we have a 3 year expiry for KF miles but would make sure we use them before they expire.

As part of the LH RTW fare I have LA flights for SYD-SCL-EZE and the points from those flights will go to QF.
I will be flying EZE-FRA with LH and then on a different date FRA-SIN with LH connecting with SQ for SIN-SYD. The booking class details from my ticket and distances obtained from Great Circle Mapper are as follows:
EZE-FRA LH511 Business Z class 7133 miles
FRA-SIN LH778 Bus Z class 6389 miles
SIN-SYD SQ221 Bus U class 3908 miles

Looking at the Miles calculator on the SQ website I see that for EZE-FRA I would earn 8935 KF miles in U (Business Standard) and for FRA-SIN it would be 7984 in U if these were SQ flights. With both of these flights being with partner airline LH am I likely to receive the same number of miles as if it was an SQ flight? I am thinking that since U class with SQ is Business Standard that is what the LH flights would also be classed as with SQ since Z class with LH is Discount Business and SQ show the miles as the same for both U Business Standard and D Business Lite. For SIN-SYD U class shows as 4890 KF miles.

I see also that "PPS Club, KrisFlyer Elite Gold and Elite Silver members enjoy a 25% tier bonus on the actual miles flown". Since I will still be Elite Gold when I fly would I be likely to receive the 25% bonus for the LH flights?

I only want to convert enough Amex points in late September to have the total of 522,000 KF miles I need after I receive the miles from the EZE-FRA-SIN-SYD flights next year so it would be helpful to have an idea of how many KF miles I may receive.
