I've got an advantage reward booking in J coming up with SQ to Europe but can see waitlist availability in F from SYD to SIN (there's no F on the second flight). My question is does anyone know if it's possible to upgrade the SYD to SIN leg of the flight to F without cancelling my current booking?

I've tried applying for an upgrade in manage booking but it's says they're not available. I know I could split the booking and apply for both before cancelling the J booking if the F one materialises but I don't want to transfer any more Amex MR points to KF as I don't think I'll be flying with them again for a while after this flight. I have enough points at the moment in my account to cover the difference between J and F but not to cover both. I'm guessing if it's possible I'll have to give SQ a call but don't want to sit on hold for a couple of hours if it's not possible.
