+1 about no photo ID; although many of those in this thread have
n times more domestic flights under their belt compared to me, I can still say without any hesitation that I have never been asked for photo ID.
In fact, most of the time when I front up to the counter (premium or otherwise) and say, "I've OLCI'ed but I didn't get a chance to print my BPs," they usually ask for my QFF card (specifically, as in "That's OK, do you have your QFF card?")
I also don't see much big a deal in asking about procedure, so as long as it doesn't strike a bad note or tone. I used to ask about little things all the time, such as how the explosives detector machines work. I even remark sometimes when they ask for certain things that I've forgotten as a matter of procedure, e.g. I'll remark that "I haven't had to do that for ages!" Of course, all of this is in a non-serious tone and the response is at worst neutral or dead pan.
So part of this might have to do with how
munitalP asked about the procedure stuff but I'm hunching (probably safely) towards the fact that his attitude for the whole time was not aggressive in the slightest (bar when things started to go pear shaped). I also see nothing wrong with a WP (or anyone for that matter) requesting a better seat, even if the pax has not OLCI'ed - at the very worst, I'd expect them to say that there are no better seats left (which may be a dodge or a fib in itself....

).
