Can someone intepret the rules for me "One guest allowed and must be travelling with the member". It doesn't really speicify they have to be flying with me, for what it is, we could have caught the bus to the airport together ;)
Unfortunately travelling with the member means that they are on the same flight.

If you were an Oneworld Emerald though (such as AA Executive Platinum) then your guest does not need to be travelling with you but needs to be on a Oneworld flight of which JQ is not a member anyway.

Your best bet would be they do not notice the different coloured boarding passes and allow you to guest....

I also guested someone into the MEL Flounge recently who was travelling on a different (QF) flight. I just handed over the BPs and the attendant did not bat an eyelid. Can't guarantee that will always be the case, so I guess be prepared for a refusal. :)

Yes it does happen.
I personally would not be prepared to ask/guest a stranger/AFF'er into the QF F Lounge unless they are on the same flight ( unless I'm in F of course)
Friends and family are entirely different.
I realise there may be other views.

Actually, I'm guilty of misleading the house here, as I was in F this time (a highly unusual situation which is why I overlooked the fact when posting ). I also recalled seeing, just prior to this occasion, some conflicting info on the QF site: basically in one place, for F pax, it said guest must be travelling with the member, in the other place it did not. So I wasn't sure what the reaction would be.

Hi guys, as many of you probably noticed, I accidentally stumbled across el-cheapo J-class fares ex-RGN a couple of weeks ago - I found them whilst booking the following trip! Unfortunately I don't have status any more - so I'll be flying all of the following legs (bar one) in Y with no lounge access :(

If anyone is flying on the same dates, I would really, really appreciate being guested into a lounge (I've only ever been in QC's before).

Thank you in advance!

8th June 10:55 SYD-KUL on D7223 (I realise this is an AirAsia flight - but if anyone is flying that can guest anyone flying internationally, that would be incredibly appreciated)

9th June 10:05 KUL-RGN on MH740

12th June 10:10 RGN-SIN on MI511

12th June 23:30 SIN-PER on QF72

and

13th June 08:05 PER-SYD on QF576 (Flying J on this leg, so should be able to guest 1)

I've taken advantage of this special fare you posted about and so feel I should return the favour in some way. If you PM me your mailing address I'd be happy to send you a complimentary pass for QF lounge access that you could use prior to QF72.

I assume since I am SG/OWS I get lounge access with all my BA and AY flights.

If so, I'll be at the airport a good couple of hours beforehand :)

They are:

MAN-LHR BA1391 - 1110 hours 05/06/2012
LHR-ZUR BA716 - 1340 hours 05/06/2012 (not sure how long I'll have their being in transit)
ZUR-LCY - BA8764 1010 hour 14/06/2012 (this is a BACityFlyer flight - will that effect lounge access?)
LHR-GIB - BA490 0800 hours 15/06/2012
HEL-BKK - AY089 1710 hours 26/06/2012
BKK-SYD - QF024 2055 hours 01/07/2012
SYD-MEL - QF429 1130 hours 02/07/2012

I also have annoyingly enough one *A flight as well - BER-HEL LH 2974 0650 hours 26/06/2012
I can cover myself there in BER with my PP, but I am not sure how those lounges are going to be working (if at all) since the airport is going to be only a few weeks old by that point.

Flights so far. A couple of BNE-TSV returns planned towards end of the month as well but not locked in yet.

6/6 0745-0815 GET QF2433 No lounge
6/6 0930-1230 PER QF598 Qantas Club
10/6 0730-0800 BNE QF589 Qantas J Lounge (lamenting the cutback of the 1100 BNE-PER flight)
10/6 1200-1615 PER QF2438 Qantas Club
15/6 0745-0815 GET QF2433 No lounge
15/6 0930-1230 PER QF598 Qantas Club

You're not going via SYD? And you call yourself a frequent flyer ;p

I’m not sure if a transit counts as leaving the state or not ;)

10/6 0730-0800 BNE QF589 Qantas J Lounge (lamenting the cutback of the 1100 BNE-PER flight)

Will be in the club early that morning too, look out for a bag with waaaaaay too many elite tags on it ;)

Hi,

My husband and I are on QF 1 on the 5th June in J. We were looking forward to using our complimentary F lounge passes - but unfortunately my husband has lost his! We are heading to France for our first wedding anniversary so would love to start the holiday with lunch in the F lounge. If anyone is at the Sydney F lounge on the 5th and could guest my husband in that would be great!

Cheers
Nicole

Ps Happy to share the love and guest into the business lounge on our travels.

That's a great idea - and thanks for compiling it.

Why don't we setup a shared Google Docs spreadsheet (or similar) to keep track of where everyone will be? That way everyone can update their own data, rather than one person having to maintain it all.
