JQ starter plus SC's not counting towards loyalty bonus anymore :(

Hi i've mentioned this in the QF forums, but maybe this is a better place to post.

Ever since the recent QF website upgrades of 2017, status credits earned on JQ fares are not counting towards the 500 SC loyalty bonus. This issue has affected all members of my family who have earned JQ starter plus fares.

For example, my brother's account:

Shows 580 status credits posted for year to date (anniversary is end of April for him).

Of these, 430 SC's were earned on QF. 50 SC's are with a oneworld partner (Latam). 100 SC's earned on JQ flights.

Yet the loyalty bonus indicator shows this:

Your next Loyalty Bonus is at 500 Status Credits
You’ve earned 430 Status Credits on eligible Qantas or Jetstar flights
Loyalty Bonus
For every 500 Status Credits you earn (to a maximum of 2,000) on eligible Qantas or Jetstar flights you can choose 50 Status Credits or 8,000 Qantas Points.

Every time JQ atatus credits post on pur accounts, the year to date SC tally increments, but the loyalty bonus SC tally does not.
I rang the NZ call centre, and the operator had no idea what the problem was and tried to fob me off.
In my brothers case, he is eligible for a loyalty bonus now (430 on QF plus 100 on JQ). Choosing the 50 SC option would then qualify him for gold status, no?

Can other people check their accounts? Is this error universal? Or am i reading the T&C' wrong?

Another example is my Dad who only flies JQ starter plus fares between MCY and MEL. He is currently Gold QF status.

His current year shows on his QFF account he has earned 340 SC's (all on JQ)

Yet his account also shows this:

Your next Loyalty Bonus is at 500 Status Credits
You haven’t earned any Status Credits this membership year

???? I am confused

Suggest your brother to give them a call again as I was initially advised that JQ flight do not count towards loyalty bonus but that was not the case on the follow up call. Found this under the loyalty bonus; "Eligible flight segments are ones with a QF, JQ, 3K, GK or BL flight number on the ticket".

Seems to be the case, at least for Starter Max fares...

Reconciled mine, 95 status credits earned on Jetstar Starter Plus have not counted towards the loyalty bonus also.

I have just checked my Qantas account and found I have not been credited JQ status credits toward my loyalty bonus for the past 4 months. Rang Qantas, they said they are aware of the problem but they don't know when it will be fixed. Doesn't seem like rocket science to fix it !!

I have put multiple calls and emails through to Qantas on this matter a week or so ago. I had 70 SC and only 45 towards my loyalty bonus, with 25 earned on a flight from MEL-ZQN JQ. They assured me they were allocated to earn the loyalty bonus and that it would update soon, still no change to my totals...

I checked my loyalty bonus, and it was 20SC off - but I can't tell where that 20SC has come from, could be anything! I contacted QF and they confirmed that my manual calculation was correct and to ignore what was displayed on the website.... hopefully they fix this bug soon! Any JQ status credits count so don't stress anyone

Logged in today, the status bonus was waiting for me - but the count was still slightly off. Looks like it's being fixed.

Thanks for bringing this to light, I just checked my own and it's showing 20 short even though all my flights should count.

Funny how these things are never 20 over.

I will keep watch, although for me not much I would imagine on routes mostly JQ it will be giving some people heartburn when they first notice it.

Web calculator is not working, backroom one is, Jetstar flights counted.

Pleased to hear it, and thanks for posting an image! Of course, it would be even better if they fixed the website calculator, but that is probably expecting to much.

As an aside, once you select an option (50SC's or 8000 points, how long til they post to your account). ie: could the decision be rolled over to get a heard start on SC's for the next membership year?

When I had the bonus choice last year it posted immediately. There is an expiry date listed with the offer and if that date is in the next membership year then you can activate it then, as I did.

The recent IT upgrades at QF - while not perfect- seems to have corrected the issue I mentioned in this thread. All my families' accounts now count JQ/3K-earned SC's towards the loyalty bonus count on rhe website. Hurrah!

I have just had a 50SC loyalty bonus reversed, and when I called up the operator claimed it was because JQ flights don't count and her counter had me below the threshold. On the website I was at 1025, but hers had me sitting at 940 with the remaining 85 from JQ flights...Bloody system...
