Not really supposed to be an annual thing, but they seem to like having some sort of promotion in Q3/Q4 time in recent years. I paid for a 2-year membership in Oct 2010 with no joining fee, which I've only used 15 months of it so far with no use-by date in sight - I've retained SG till at least the end of March 2014 (and most probably March 2015 the way things are going, being on 1240 SCs after 5.5 months into the QFF year).
 
They have/had a points lottery for this year's incentive to join.

Looking into getting a 2year membership, would it be worthwhile holding off until December to see if another offer comes up?
