Join Mileage Plus and get 3000 Miles for free before 31 Dec 2006. U must go to:

- United Airlines Australia site United Airlines Australia - Airline tickets, international airfare, flight schedules and travel dealsThen click on "Join Mileage Plus" Ad under "Valuable Offers".

I joined recently and can confirm that I get the 3000 miles. Too bad they don't have United credit card in Australia.

Well I just tried joining then and no dice. United claim that I am already a member of MP!?
I don't recall signing up at any stage, though I did fly them in '99 and maybe I filled some form after 26hrs in transit (who knows? :)

A search via their email and name "find your number" page yielded no answers ether.

Even I could sign up, I'm curious what people put in the Ph number field. The country code is not editable for me (stuck at 001) and of course the rest of the ph number is in US format.

Truly odd.

I'm already a member, so didn't join up - but had a look at their signup form. For me, once I chose that I was in Australia, it removed the 001 from the country code box.

Wish that offer was around when I originally signed up - then I might actually have some points in my United account :)

Hi Mal,

Maybe if you flew *A you might have some miles in your MP acct.

I don't usually fly * A but will hopefully have 3,000 miles in my Mileage Plus account soon.

Only 5 sectors on *A in the last 3 years for me ... All credited to other *A schemes. If they had an Australian domestic partner, then I would consider switching pretty much all flying across - alas, not going to happen unless DJ hops onboard :)

I donated all my United points to Ansett including about 90,000 from my last trip about a month before they folded.   :(

How long did the 3000 miles take to come through?

I joined 7 weeks ago and still no miles in account!

Normally UA MP new member promos require taking a qualifying UA flight. I presume you did take such flight that qualified?

I got Mine ....

When I joined, I got jack. I have also been unable to find anything on the we site regarding the terms and conditions of the offer. Not to worry. I don't get to fly the approproate airlines often enough to let this concern me too much!
