Hi all,

Periodic peruser, first-time poster.

I've just started planning a oneworld RTW trip on award points (in Business) and I see there's a choice between a JFK-LHR day flight (BA178) on a B747 and a JFK-LCY night flight (BA4) on an A318.

I imagine it's been discussed a dozen times before but would someone mind pointing me to a thread on the relative merits of the two options? My instinct is that the 747 to LHR is the way to go but I don't mind the idea of landing closer to the city, since I'll be laden with bags.

Thanks!

Ash

Definately take the LCY flight - it's like a private jet, all business class, with shorter transit time to the city (depending on your final destination).

The seating is close enough to the same (minor differences only).

Really it'll probably come down to whether you want a day or night flight.

If it was me, it'd be an easy decision (BA4).

It really depends on where you are going to landside, and whether the schedule fits. It's not an extremely long flight as such, and the seats are comparable.
