Jetstar are having a Sale linked to Australia's First innings run score.

The more runs the Aussies make in the first innings the more seats available. Currently they are 1/91, if they were all out for 110 ( :confused: , 110 StarClass seats will be available for $110 oneway from Oz to anywhere starclass goes. Normal rates apply for the various seating classes on the return.

Here's a synopsys:
Sports mad Australians given the chance to score low international fares To celebrate Jetstar’s inaugural long haul international flight to Bangkok on 23 November and the start of the Test Series between England and Australia, Jetstar will spread the cheer amongst all Australians and cricket fans in particular by offering exclusive fares on international StarClass to JetMail members. ...

... Jetstar is supporting the Australian team in style by offering StarClass fares, Jetstar’s business class, and ticket numbers according to how many runs Australia scores in the first innings of the First Test. In the last series against England, Australia averaged 277 runs in each of its first innings. So, if Australia scores 277 runs Jetstar will sell 277 StarClass (Jetstar’s business class) fares at $277 one way to any of Jetstar’s international destinations (inclusive of surcharges, fees and taxes). Return fares will be offered at Jetstar’s regular, all day every day low fares. And customers will be able to choose economy or StarClass for their return journey ...

... available exclusively to JetMail members. Jetstar’s JetMail members are always the first to know about Jetstar news and are regularly sent exclusive sale offers. To become a JetMail member visit Jetstar.com to register for the promotion. ...

... This sale is available from 0900 hrs Tuesday, 27 November 2006 by booking on Jetstar - Cheap Flights, Low Fares all day everyday from Australia's newest Cheap Fare airline via an email link sent exclusively to Jetmail subscribers on Monday 27 November 2006. The sale is for travel from 1 February until 28 February 28 2007. The offer is not available on all flights or days, subject to availability and until sold out. All amounts are non-refundable. Limited changes are permitted for a fee. See Jetstar.com for more details and conditions. ...

Hmm thats a tad strange. If the Aussies do well the seats cost more - not an incentive for people to cheer on the aussies really. It does mean more availability but at a higher price :?:

Agree. You might even say it is unpatriotic. Perhaps they were expecting England to bat first? Or a case where they are trying to limit costs but it has come off wrong?

You would be silly if you applied via the email link sent exclusively to Jetmail subscribers on Monday 27 November 2006.

Maybe the Pommie team will be the first 11 to buy tickets and flee the country, not bothering to book a return. ;)

Currently 141 for 2 ...

Hmmm ... 155/2 ...

It's a self insuring formula; the less the greencaps score, the less of these seats they have to sell.

But the valiant English team will limit them to 250 I bet ;)

Dear its going to be unpleasant being english over the next few weeks :(

if the normal fare is less than 650 no point in buying sale fare @ 650
Surprisingly, it's an inclusive fare, so there's plenty of leeway.

... 160/2 ...

According to your link you cannot buy the ticket until Tuesday 28 November using the link that will be sent to you on Monday 27 November. So if the Aussies make 650 the offer is less attractive. By the way what is the regular airfare to Bangkok, which you will need to pay for the return flight?

JetSaver BKK-MEL is from:
$275 fare + $137 of +++ = $412

StarClass MEL-BKK:
$835 fare + $163 of +++ = $998

Jetsaver HNL-SYD is from:
$374 fare + $153 of +++ = $528

StarClass SYD-HNL:
$1,094 fare + $204 of +++ = $1298

JQ flights dont attract AA qpoints do they?

Nope. Only Jet Flex and Star class fares, and then only able to credit to QFF. (Hence my previous comment about OW should be concerned about jetstarisation.)

What timezone is the 0900?

27th tricky for me - won't have internet access :(

I guess JohnK picked up the typo as underlined. I guess that should be Tuesday 28th November, 0900 AEST (1100 Kiwi Time).

346/3 at stumps on day 1. So there could be a lot of tickets for sale, but maybe not huge bargains.
