well i dont think that any1 has the email, that so called $99 sale for SYD-HNL in feb is their current sale, derr, so peoples mabye just shut up

Yeah, I put a few things together that the emails were being sent out based on the Jetstar site going into meltdown and a couple of other things.

They may arrive later tonight - then again, Jetstar may just send them at their leisure over the next couple of days!

There definetly seems to be something going on at the JQ site. I put some MEL-OOL dates in (Dec 7 was one) and got shown a $39 flight with a fare type of 'DUNNO', which was strange.

There still might be something yet, but I haven't had any emails today from JQ.

I can see $99 availability on the return HNL-SYD 7/8/9/11/12/14/15/19 Feb, can't see any at this price SYD-HNL until 16th Feb - still looking.

If you can book it, it's about $544 (inclusive) for the return SYD/HNL.

ExpertFlyer is showing a fare of $256 + taxes. Travel is 2 Feb to 13 Mar. That's great but the JQ website is giving me no luck.

Patience (and the refresh key is a virtue). Don't wait the 5 minutes.

I was able to see availability approx. once for every 5 refreshes.

When the $99 fares come up, they price out as:
DEPARTURE
SYD - HNL
$298.24
Tue, xx Feb 08 18:00 JQ 3

RETURN
HNL - SYD
$246.13
Fri, xx Feb 08 08:15 JQ 4

Feb nineteen and twenty two, not great days of the week but the Friday departure day only came up for me once, 3-4hrs ago!

GUYS, that HNL specials you keep finding, thats their CURRENT INTERNATIONAL SALE, also i found :
MEL-OOL- 39
MEL-DAR- 114
AVV-SYD- 59

JQ are really going to have an enormous sale, probaly this Friday Morning (TIgers Launch), and i think this is gonna be a huge sale (i think that they can afford to lose some $$$, qantas revenue was huge!!!, and i think that JQ are starting to get a bit worried about TT)

Anyways cant wait for this sale, but i pretty sure that half a million people are wanting to access this sale so i would reccomend a FAST internet connection, yer and a FAST computer if you even just want to get into the SEARCH box, lol:D

Jetstar to sell five cent airfares

Jetstar is planning the cheapest ever airfare sale in Australian history in an attempt to draw public attention away from Tiger Airways upcoming launch of domestic services.
The Qantas low-cost offshoot plans to sell 5000 five cent fares (including taxes) on its website from 7pm tomorrow night on a handful of its routes.
Jetstar has claimed the sale is a celebration of it recently winning five awards, including the Sydney-based Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation's award for the best low-cost airline in the Asia-Pacific for 2007.
But it is more likely, Jetstar not only wants to frustrate Tiger's upcoming launch but also ensure its Singapore-headquartered rival does not undermine the Qantas offshoot's reputation as the lowest fare airline in Australia.
"It is just another example of why we are and will remain Australia's low fares airline," Jetstar chief Alan Joyce said in a statement issued by the airline.
However, the only flights on offer from Sydney are to the Gold Coast. From Melbourne - Tiger's homebase - the flights are only on three routes served by Tiger.
The tickets are also for travel in the low winter season, more than six months away and on selected flights on the low-peak Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday daytimes. The five cent tickets also entail a $2 credit card fee for people booking over the internet..
The 5000 tickets on offer are a small percentage of the average 700,000 seats Jetstar would expect to sell every month.
News of the sale comes as Tiger attempts to gain final regulatory approval to launch flights by Friday. With a plane load of passengers, crew and Civil Aviation Safety Authority inspectors, Tiger made a "proving" flight from Melbourne to the Sunshine Coast today. Tonight Tiger will undertake a final "proving" flight from Melbourne to Launceston. If the flights go off without a hitch, Tiger could expect to have its Air Operators Certificate by Thursday. If not, it will be forced to reschedule another "proving" flight and refund thousands of tickets for its first scheduled flights.

5000 5 cent airfares. Ridiculous.

Routes are SYD-OOL and 3 MEL routes (I'd assume LST, HBA and NTL)

Tomorrow at 7pm.

Thats odd, I just checked the JQ website and nothing on the 5c sale.

Weird.

Not again! Another stun from Jetstar. I never managed to get seats from these sales. Could not log in. System crashed. Wasted hours. I will give it a miss this time.

No email for me and the fares appear normal.

Besides, the article quotes tomorrow night as being sale date and the article was posted 1 hour ago.
