Back in Perth airport after 3.5 hour flight from Bali, the only way we can avoid the awful midnight five hour flight. A few hours transit in Perth Business Club then on Qantas to ADL. We are working MrP's shadow - I can see it when logging in on my account, so he has aisle and myself the window. Hope it sticks.

As it was too early for breakfast the Hotel packed us two boxes which were really heavy with food. Boiled eggs. Fruit. Pastries etc.

No access to lounges so we slummed in the general airport. The new airport is so much nicer. Good upmarket shops. Clean. No rats to be seen scurrying around and at 6.15am very quiet.

We were scanned multiple times and bags searched and patted down at the gate lounge. We were called to board early and were all set ready to depart early.

No talk of volcano. Phew. Flight was uneventful, full, and I didnt bother with the food. A 3.5 hour flight. Not too bad. Passengers quiet and landed early.

Immigration very quick as we dont bring anything back.

The signs out of arrivals say to head right to domestic checkin. Thats much easier than last time. So we drag all the luggage down but it seems its only virgin. Oh. Qantas you need to take the bus. Maybe a sign Red Roo? The bus stop was back where we just came from. Sigh.

So the bus you need to take all your luggage. Some pax decide they wont move to the rear of the bus where all the vacant seats are. They stand in the middle leaving many pax, myself included to jam in the front, standing. Stupid people.

Finally after about a 10 minute trip of lurching with bags we get there. Quick checkin and in the newish downstairs Qantas club which is a huge improvement on the joint jungle. By now I was really hungry and wolfed down the pizza and coffee.

Have a few hours wait to get to board but still pleased we booked it this way.

The rest will be pedestrian - late night arrival into Adelaide and sleep.

My gosh there is so much water here and this morning it is bucketing down and yet tomorrow is meant to be worse?

Case unpacked. Cat mollified with a game. Washing machine on. Passport packed away until Dec. Except for MrP. Off to NZ next week and Melbourne again this week.

Ooh, doesn't sound too good. Hopefully insurance can sort it quickly.
The BOM site shows lots of rain for Adelaide. What have you done in a past life to bring it on?

Glad the cat is happy. They can get quite put out when they are left at home (or even worse put in a cattery). We had one that used to turn its back and ignore you if you had been away.
