Another quality Jetstar promo... 18,000 seats for $18 only available via a link sent out to people on their mailing list. Sale was on 9am today until midday. So when do I get the email? 12:25pm, 25 mins after the sale has finished.

Had a quick look and the site is crashing its heart out. On the few times my requests have worked, all sale seats look to be well and truely gone.

In terms of Internet efficiency (website crashing & email notification delays) as well as route, date and seat availability - I would call this sale a flop at best, and at worst, they have severely disillusioned their online sales base. I find it difficult to believe they have 18,000 promotional seats on the few routes available in August, based on the results that I have been downloading!

It’s all good to advertise an $18 (A$20 inc 11% cc charge) per seat promotion, but Jetstar has demonstrated this morning that it doesn’t have a handle on its major sales channel.

Thanks to the performance of the Jetstar Gold Coast Titans, starting today at 9.00am, JetMail customers have the exclusive opportunity to take advantage of the spectacular seat sale with 18,000 fares to some of our best domestic locations at just $18 each!

But hurry, offer ends at 12 midday (AEST) today and is exclusive to JetMail members. Flights are available on selected routes below during the travel period 1 August and 31 August 2007.

Fares are subject to availability and not available on all flights or days. Conditions apply....
I was able to book a $40 return flight to MEL/HBA in August ($18+$18+$4cc). (Albeit for Wednesday/Thursday evenings).

Make good use the the refresh (f5) key, be patient and you will get there.

These sales surely must frustrate regular customers. I was on this morning looking at some other fares (not related to the sale) and couldn't even get the system to quote. Just reinforced my original gut feel to book onto DJ.

My immediate thought upon seeing Jetstar sponsor the Titans was I wonder how popular that is with the players. With players like Gavin Cooper (196cm tall) Josh Graham (190cm) and most other players taller than me (185cm) they would not have very comfortable trips.

Bet there are AFL clubs hoping Jetstar doesn't sponsor their trips to Perth.
