Jetstar Star Class Promo

Just completed a Starclass return to Bali out via Sydney (JQ codeshare with QF) the JQ to DPS and return dir to MEL. Must admit that I thought it was pretty good value (should have looked here to find info on in-flight power!!) but on return allocated seat was broken (no recline and lumbur support broken) - able to move and no problems. Excellent way to earn sc's. My only negative comment was lounge access in melbourne was questioned because of JQ designator on QF flight - had to prove I was a club member to get access when it should have been automatic...since my understanding was all Starclass passengers are entitled to lounge access. Anyway...for a 6-9 hr flight - definately seems worth it to me - especially on a promo.

Hi..I have the same flight..a launch cheapie later boosted with the Star Class Promo.

I am interested in what SCs that you had placed into your account..

MEL-SYD
& SYD DPS

Also did the mileage post at 125% on both legs too??

Thanks

I have read elswhere that on the Star Class Promo that on the domestic leg that you do not fly business (hence my last question to see what SC were awarded...so perhaps they also take the QC access of you???

Luckilly I am a QC member...so this will not affect me.

I would have presumed lounge access at only SYD, not MEL as your MEL-SYD was not business class. (Not an issue for me as QP member)
I would also assume discount economy SC's on the MEL-SYD leg since its the seat you fly in that gets credited.

Waiting for my first flight like that so can't report actuals at the moment.

Quick question; for your MEL-SYD flight, did you get seat allocation in line with your QP preferences?

Does anyone know where Jetstar advertise Star Class Promos?

THe only time I have seen it was during the 'sports mad sale' last year.

I need to book 2 more flights so I get Platinum status.

thanks

I have only seen them usually have cheaper star class rates for new routes, just check there web site to Bangkok, coughet, Osaka, Bali, Honolulu, KL, Ho Chi Mihn and you will see fares, some are cheaper than std , just hunt around and see what you see.

btw Osaka is as best i can see completely booked out starclass ! i guess its all the business travelers booking well in advance !!
(Or all the seats are reservced by QF for sale)

I forgot about the bonus.... good, that's another 10K next week.
As I posted earlier in this thread, my BKK-MEL flight's SCs and points took 18 days to post.

Do you think Qantas is deliberately dragging their feet with the QFF and SC earn on Jetstar flights????

I'm still waiting for my 8004 pts and 120 SC and 5000 bonus SC for the return BKK to MEL flight.

How many days do I have to wait until I can make an online missing pts claim?

I waited until the next Monday before putting an online claim in. A week later I range QFF. The points/SC's were deposited right at the end of the three week period, Just before I should start escalating the matter.

Serfty: When u fly MEL to BKK, don't sit in 2J or 2k.

We had the same seats going up to BKK and coming back to MEL.

2J has a busted lumbar support button
2K has a dodgy tray table that doesnt stay flat.

Exact same aircraft was used for our return flight

No Worries; I'm actually pre-selected in 1K to BKK and 2D  coming back.

I noticed that someone has pre-selected 1J out of the other 21 available seats. :(

StarClass was very full coming back. I think alot of people pay for the $200 upgrade since it is an overnight flight

The food from BKK was actually OK.

And watch out for the slope after immigration on the outbound leg at BKK.

Was someone's bright idea to wax the floor or maybe they spilt some oil or lubricant there...

A lot of people coming from Asia to Oz/Nz at the moment, perhaps related to the start of the university year coming up. My return next week is very full in JetSaver/JetFlex

I'm sure many were bumped without actually paying for the upgrade.

could also be related to Chinese New Year next week.

I now have a theory that Qantas are delaying the pts and SC earn from StarClass in feb, so that they get out of giving the 5000 starclass pts bonus.

Still no sign of my points :(

They'll come; as I have posted, for me it took 18 days.

Did you get you bonus for your outbound trip?
