Jetstar Points Plane Now on Sale

No premium seats publicised but for anyone looking for more than 2 seats, may work as any Y seat on the plane can be a classic reward, not just a small limited number. And a fair few dates to play with.

Mod --> Please correct the typo in the subject should be Plane not Plan and move to Jetstar forum if more appropriate.

Actually seems to be quite a few premium seats available to purchase with points.

That's good then, i didn't actually search, just posted the email, as i cant travel in that period anyway.

You'd be silly to actually book any of these flights on points.

It was only a month ago these flights and same dates were $396 return on sale and even now they're around $600 return.

Last year around the same dates (25 Nov - 11) Dec I flew Jetstar from the Gold Coast to Cairns... the entire return ticket was $322 and on the way back had an entire row to myself.

Now they want $239 taxes and 43,000 points return for Jetstar economy - no thanks. At the very least they could have done 15% less points or something.

Qantas seem to want frequent flyer balances to reduce by introducing simple yet not valuable ways to spend.

I’m heading to Japan this week coming on Jetstar from the GC & it cost only $400 return including bags & seats.

Rather save the points to fly Cathay Pacific to US or Malaysia Airlines to London!

The fares we are seeing, and the points offer all says that JQ are having a tough time filling seats between Japan and Australia (unless its school holidays), so better to use this yield problem as a PR exercise and suck up some QFF points out of the system and transfer some profits from the Frequent Flyer division to Jetstar International division rather than let the seats go empty.

I wonder if its a weaker AUD and weaker demand at the Australian end for travel to Japan, or if its also something at the Japanese end of the equation? Whatever the case, once the A320XLRs arrive for JQ I would expect that some or all of these routes may lose the B788s

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I'm not convinced that *every* seat is available for booking using Qantas points. I just did a quick search and there are *no* Business seats showing as available from Cairns to Osaka. Yet, Expert Flyer shows that there are plenty of seats available for sale as commercial seats.
