Has anyone applied, collected points, cancelled, reapplied and collected points again on this card? I don't see any mention of a cool-off period like some other banks do (usually 12 months).

Yes, but you may have not noticed that the previous link had expired.

It looks as if it has reopened.

No the link on page 16 has not expired - it is the same link I cut and paste and still works.
This was first posted March 1 so it is not new.

You might want to go back and read all of the messages. The link had expired and was dead. This was very clear. There were several reports of this (see for example message #165). And I can confirm myself that the link was dead. It has obviously been renewed.

Yes, including for Jetstar and Macquarie based cards.

You are correct that there is no limitation period for new applications. I can tell you though, that each time I have cancelled they've said I could reapply at any time but they would assess my application as if it was a new one.

I've consistently seen reports that Macquaire are tough on application. But I've not seen that in my case.

You may have missed post #171 - there was a website error with the application link, it had not expired. They fixed the link (not renewed our reopened the offer, it was a website coding error). Information as per the Card Services team on the phone.
The offers page had not changed and always had May 31 as expiry.

Nope, didn't miss anything. I'm proving details of my experiences with the website and dealings with Jetstar cards plus a synthesis of the messages on this forum + covering your messages that you've deleted on this thread.

The offer page certainly changed. And the offer certainly changed. Although it has now been reinstated.

I contacted Jetstar credit cards by email and they stated that the offer had lapsed if it was no longer available online.

I'm sure there will be some people confused by your posts (some of which have now been deleted), so let me be clear for everyone:

Although previously unavailable, the offer is definitely now open and apparently expires at the end of May. But note that it can be withdraw again at any time.

There's no further comment needed, it will simply confuse people again.

I applied late March, got card today April 9 and activated it on phone. Then was told it was not eligible for the 40k offer as card was approved after the 31st. Said I wanted to cancel card got put through to someone who said, no the offer has been extended to May 31 ad you are still eligible. Took her ID just incase :) Kate

Did you apply during the period that the offer was inactive?

I think there is only one person who is confused. Just to lay out the timeline as per this thread (and not just my posts).

1st March (Post #154):
"The offer is back and now runs till 31 May 2016" with a link to the *current* offer page which has not changed since then (I have screenshot from early march if you want it)

Post #165 - the website stops working due to a broken link on the *application* button (offer webpage has not changed from March 1st, neither the offer content nor the link)

Post #171 - call to the Card Services line reveals the offer has not expired but it was an IT issue, page was fixed the next day and remains unchanged from the updated offer on March 1st. Some people are told it has expired which is just a convenient excuse for contact centre staff to use when they can't be bothered looking into what is wrong. I suppose the biggest bit of evidence that it has not expired is the fact that it.. has not expired and is currently active.

To summarise:
The new offer was out on the 1st of March (valid until May 31), it stopped working briefly due to a website issue but is still on the same link, with the same offer conditions as posted on March 1st.

Not sure how an argument to the contrary can be mounted as the link posted March 1 is the current and working offer (you go back to the post and click on it if you like) and it is active. There is also the people who have applied for it during that time and received the offer. Case closed.

PS I did not delete any of my own messages.

I can confirm the link for this offer is working fine - I was able to complete an application for Mrs 2tall4Y over the weekend and I was pleasantly surprised by the functionality to upload proof of income at the end of the application process (my previous experience with Macquarie-issued cards is that the application process gets held up unnecessarily by Macquarie taking about a week to send a letter asking for proof of income :().

For me the Jetstar card is one of the worst in my wallet. On Tuesday I tried to use it after ~ 6 months, having exhausted points cap, and couldn't recall PIN. Ended up using another card.

How's that a problem with the card?

I use it all the time. Sadly the higher earn AmEx is not welcome everywhere, and this is the only non-AmEx card I have that earns 1p/1$

Once you've reached the cap you don't get further FF points.

Well there are some other cards that used to give a point a dollar unlimited but now only for the first $2,500 spent a month. Depending on your spending pattern the JetStar card which only has an annual limit on points earned may be a lot better than that.

Personally I sign up to cards for the bonus points and earn far more bonus points than the ordinary points I would earn from staying loyal to any one card. The bonus points offers discourage sticking with the one credit card provider.

I agree sign-on bonus itself is easier to collect FF points/miles. The way reward points are capped and converted to airline miles and points, sign-on may be the way to go. Double-edge sword really... more cards you apply for, there is effect on your credit rating.

Woolworths Visa for example which I will be ditching after this month's ATO payment. It must be nice to exceed $100,000 of personal expenditure on this card!

Cards arrived yesterday, and Mrs 2tall4Y got granted a surprisingly generous credit limit based (at least compared to my last experience with a Macquarie-issued card).

Continuing on from the easy application process, I liked being able to activate the cards and set up PINs using the online banking facility, rather than having to do it through phone banking. So a very smooth experience so far.
