It’s all about driving higher ancillary revenue at the end of the day. Really crafting the ancillary product for each market specifically. They have called this about in recent results about driving this revenue.

Also just noticed on MEL/AVV-SYD and SYD-BNE they've removed Flex and added a lower tier bundle the"Mini" that has free seat selection and same day changes. So no option of a bundle with 14kg of hand luggage there. You want that you pay extra. And only one option for earning points now - the Flex Plus. Other short routes like SYD-OOL, MEL-ADL/CBR/HBA remain unchanged.

If you buy a Jetstar holiday (flight plus hotel) the blurb says it comes with standard seat selection. If you want the. Extra legroom seats can you buy them after booking confirmation and I assume they will be at the same price as buying without the holiday package and I assume that if they are available on the chosen flights booked as flight only, they will.be available as "package"? Never ventured into Jetstar holiday bundles but I do see the hotel we like and we are also sitting on a Jetstar voucher or two!

Honestly as a survey question, its not a bad idea. If enough people come back and say yes, then there's a market for it. We're probably not the target audience though and likely disadvantages us specifically.

They also offer cheap FF reward points seats

If having to pay for a ticket, perish the thought and given their LCC status if tied to lounge access, it would be an immediate reward rather than long distance in the future….
For the infrequent flyer that’s a better $ investment than SCs

As a LTG with no hope, or interest in getting back to Platinum, then if it was cheaper than a bundle with SCs, I'd be happy with it. The vast majority of people just want to get from A to B, sometimes with seats, sometimes with some flexibility, sometimes with luggage, sometimes with food and beverages. For me personally the FF points associated with bundles are part of the equation - which I put a value on - but SC's I assign 0 value to.

AFF, by its definition, is a very skewed subset of the population.

Not only LTG's but for anyone whose travel patterns place status way out of reach, SC's have very little, or no value.

As an aside, but interstingly Krisflyer engages with both high value and low value customers in different ways, with "Milestone Rewards" based on achieving certain elite mile thresholds. These are good for those who are a long way from achieving meaningful status. They start fairly modest and increase in value of course as you progress. The lowest three milestones would be equivalent to 14, 35 and 70 Qantas Status credits respectively (based on proportion of what it takes to get to Gold in the two programs).

I’ve just booked a Jetstar Flex fare Mel to Syd
The Jestar booking sites states: 800 QN FF + 10 SCs
The QN calculator for Jetstar states: 1200FF points +20SCs
Does anyone now know which is the correct figure?

If you buy it on the Jetstar website (usually around $60 more) then it's 800 points / 10 SC.
If you buy on the Qantas website (usually $200-$400 more) then it's 1200 points / 20 SC.
