Christchurch strengthens Australian links with new direct Perth service

Christchurch Airport continues to grow its Australian network, with Jetstar confirming new seasonal direct flights between Christchurch and Perth from October 2026 to March 2027.

Operating three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, the convenient non-stop service will add more than 30,000 seats over summer. The flights will be operated by Jetstar’s fleet of Perth based Airbus A321LRs and take just over seven hours.

Not sure if JQ are still updating their schedules but it seems like PER-SIN JQ97/98 (which also departs PER in the morning on Tues, Thurs and Sat) is zeroed out after 24 October. Perhaps this flight is replacing it?

Appears so.
Fairly pointless frequency at 3/week with QF already daily, and the SQ Group 6 daily.

MEL-SIN appears to be getting scaled back to 4 weekly also .
