Am I the only one who thinks JQ,Bali, cheap fares-even more reason to stay away from there?

I had just finished telling my sister we wouldn't go back to Bali because it is unappealing… but I booked the flights on the sale (literally within 10 minutes of saying that) as I will decide later if we want to go on to hong kong/taipei/somewhere the +1 hasn't been yet etc from there. JQ offering the economy rate for SC's made the flights similar to AA status runs by way of earn per $. I didn't see a downside, apart from the obvious one (we will be in Bali).

So no. Not the only one.

Seems the JQ site is still in melt-down.

The 'month' view (to find the cheapest fare options) isn't working on my PC, restricted to only a couple days each side of my preferred dates (not a whole month as it was doing yesterday).

For dates around the beginning of the 'sale' the lowest fares are now actually outside the sale period!

it was working with month view up until about 2am, when it went to a 5 day "month" view. So I went to bed.
I was trying to look for connecting flights and work out their SC earn.
I can fly dps-sin-hkg return for 30SC total, though I am sure it initially told me 25SC each way but as the night went on it continually told me 15SC each way. Or I can book them separately and earn 80SC total.
Airasias' sale is live, so it might be better to price beat JQ though I am not sure any part of their website is working properly.

Indeed, I'm thinking of connecting through DPS to Lombok or elsewhere in Gili islands

You have to search using the mobile site; general website is dead....I found 2 return seats Syd-Dps; with 20 kg luggage and 2 standard seats selected, it came to around $300 for 2 pax...so despite me vowing never to return to Bali again, I went to pay....then I remembered I had family commitments that week so had to abort the booking :(. Haven't been able to find any sale seats since ex Sydney. Hope this helps those looking...

When you consider that for $215 or so you get 80 SC, 15600 points and flights to Bali it is hard to say no. I personally could do with a few nights at the St Regis or something like that, there is some beautiful hotels around. I also avoid the Kuta area.

ridiculous!! (slightly OT) but a friend of mine is on a paid StarClass fare (leaving tomorrow) and can't even access their booking on the JQ website. Total meltdown by the look of it!!

yeah its brought down the entire booking process/manage my booking etc etc for everyone. If you wanted a last minute ticket last night or today, then forget it.

Would love to hear from an IT guru how that's even possible!

Travelling OS to stay locked up in a hotel

Sounds like a great plan

Not sure what all the fuss was about.

I logged on around 7 am and booked a flight SYD-DPS for around $100 all-in. As mentioned earlier, this will be just an overnight stopover on my way to SIN/BKK and onwards to CMB/IST/LHR. Not hugely convenient, but it will save some money and I'm in no great hurry. On the way back I'm flying D7 business class KUL-SYD. This is quite nice actually (based on my recent experience).

Thanks Air Asia for offering MEL-DPS flights at $99 (although IMHO Y class on JQ is far superior to that on D7). Nothing like a bit of competition to sharpen the pencils.

Well for the record I got $116 return MEL to DPS all in, but was just not quick enough to click next, at which point the regular fares kicked in ($250 each way).

I was still able to find a few dates with 6 people during the day today. They just didn't tie in to make a viable return for those who work. If you only needed flights one way they were still out there today.
Getting the site to work properly is hit and miss at the best of time.
But yes I wanted to book flights for today to MEL and back tomorrow to enjoy the flounge and wasn't able too… I was able to console myself with the fact that I got flights to bali cheap. Tomorrow I will start looking at connections and options.

Nearly got some flights from MEL but of course, next page sorry flights not available.

I wonder how how much this cost JQ?

Some return flights still available.

Much as I dislike webjet's $29 'flight price guarantee' charge (or however much it is) - maybe that is one time where it would have worked to lock in the fare?

You could just run a price beat against Air Asia, not as cheap but still pretty good at $160 return.

can't get points or SC's on the price beat though.

My tickets just arrived. I only made my bpay payment last night, because I was trying to get some more seats for others to celebrate 30ths with us. We probably won't stay in Indonesia and opt for a safe connecting time flight to somewhere less smelly.
