Jetstar hitch - couple miss wedding

Like others have posted, flying int 24 hours before your wedding, that's rolling the dice.

The 100km policy for providing accom is interesting.

Flying Jetstar is rolling the dice !! Never known them to fly at the time listed when booked, flights are either re-scheduled in advance or delayed/cancelled on the day. If you absolutely have to be somewhere, Jetstar just isn't an option.

I think contrary to many comments here the gap she left was sufficient - she planned to fly out the day before and arrive the night before the wedding. That isnt an unreasonable gap to leave - you might expect a delayed flight by a few hours but not a cancelled flight with no rebooking option.

Really? Because let's assume that she thought she might get a delay by a few hours, so now arriving in DPS @ 2am, getting married in 10hrs and need to....get some sleep, wake p early to prepare for the big event, check all details and documents are correct, check wedding organizer and all service providers are turning up to do their job etc.....doesn't sound like much time at all when you factor in the 8hrs sleep you're going to want before facing a camera and all your friends. And midday is the marriage time, not the time she will start to get dressed.

When I go on holiday I still factor in more than 24hrs each side of my departure and return for flight delays and cancellations. Because we all know cancellations can happen even if they do not happen regularly. I always ensure there is at least one additional flight I could catch and still make it on time when planning my flight bookings. In fact I do that even when catching the bus or train to work. I never rely on transport providers to get me anywhere without a disrupt if some sort occurring. Let alone my own wedding.

I agree with Justchecking on this one. And if there are delays, what state will the bride be in anyways?

If the wedding was in SYD, and they where flying up from MEL, not a problem, there are 30 different flights between MEL and SYD on any one day. Even to say AKL you could probably risk it as there are multiple options.

But to Bali, the options are much more limited. What if for example a volcano erupted somewhere and grounded all the flights? A bit more difficult to arrange a contingency plan at the last minute, where as with a few days leeway it give time if needs be...

My 3 experiences with Jetstar Int have all been fine, flight on time, new planes, great crew. I've experienced more delays on QF Int

I have only flown Jetstar once internationally and it was on time.

Was it Friday 12th or Saturday 13th that the problem occurred. I know that there was a problem with JQ35 on Saturday 13th.

Seriously though, sounds like a beat up pile of cough. Does that bloody newspaper have nothing better to do than print 3rd hand gossip?
And yes, I pictured the white swimsuit, but I somehow doubt she looked as hot as in my thoughts

If I was going to an overseas wedding as a guest I'd allow more time than arriving the night night before.
