My local Coles still has them available. I see them around different stores quite regularly.

According to JQ website:
You can still find gift cards in Coles, Woolworths, Target and Big W.

I went to Woolworths, Big W, Target and Coles (in that particular order) at the local mall today and could only find it at Coles. By then, the half price fare for one of the flights was already sold out so I ended up buying only 1 in my Easter Egg hunt!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Found them in a "Poor" suburb Coles!!!!

Lol, I don't think it's specific stores that do or don't have them. In the last couple of weeks, I've seen them in about 7 different Coles in SEQ (from north Brisbane to the back of the Gold Coast).

Is there any benefit to buying JQ gift cards rather than just booking normally?

Or is this just basic MS?

A few of the discounted gift card portals also had them on sale for 3-5%.

Most of this was removed mid last year but I think a few might still remain.

Earn FB points and also QFF points, via Coles!
Win win!
Just one of 2 ways of earning points in the 2 FF systems in Aust.
Every $1 you spend at Coles, if you decide to use FB, will earn you 1 FB point, and 0.5 VFF from that, and you also earn QFF for flying JQ with a bundle, if you decide to go with a bundle fare that is.
Other way of course is to book to fly JQ, but use a NAB VFF credit card.

In this case, manufactured spending.
The simplest example is probably something like:
- you want to buy product A, but can’t use your best point earning card, such as an Amex, for that purchase.
- therefore you purchase a gift card for that product from a major retailer where you can use the card you want.
- you then buy product A with the gift card.
