Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

Quite a few JQd delays in the evening of Wednesday 19 November 2025.

JQ841, the 1355 hours PPP down to SYD took off at 1629 with A321 VH-OYT. It is about to arrive at the gate at about 1939 hours, 144 minutes late.

JQ820 (A321 VH-VWW) is the 1700 hours SYD up to BNE that was not airborne until 1933 hours. It should arrive its Brisbane gate at about 1951, 141 late.

JQ749, the 1805 hours SYD-LST has A320 VH-VFX and was in the sky at 1936, so will arrive the Tasmanian "northern capital" much later than its timetabled 1950 hours.

Watching JQ33 closely MEL-DPS as Daughter Flyfrequently and Teen grandson heading out tomorrow 🤞
Always appreciate your updates @Melburnian1 and @tomlee1986 ✈️

Today is the third day A321 VH_OFL is operating this series of JQ34 and JQ33 flights.

The 0945 hours CNS down to MEL, JQ33, should arrive shortly 15 minutes late at 1425 hours so in theory the next leg to DPS (timetabled out at 1600 hours) should be quite close to time.

I believe they are on their way ✈️

It's not unusual to have late running on Sunday evenings, even when weather is benign. It's a busy time and if there's fairly tight turnarounds, delays can occur for multiple reasons.

On Sunday 23 November 2025, A321 VH-VWT on the 1625 hours afternoon ADL to MEL JQ777 took off at 1730 despite its previous flight JQ776 only arriving five minutes late at 1550 hours from MEL. It arrived MEL at 1900 hours, 45 behind, and is hoped to depart as JQ572, the 1855 hours MEL-BNE at 1930: optimistic.

Sister VH-VWU operated JQ821, the 1505 hours BNE down to SYD arriving at 1822 hours, 42 minutes late.

Another A321, VH-OFP arrived in MEL (ex MCY) as JQ795 at 1837 hours, 127 minutes late compared to its scheduled 1630 hours gate arrival. Looks like it still has to operate JQ528 then JQ535 MEL-SYD and back down to MEL.

VH-OFQ was on JQ568, the 1615 hours MEL-BNE up up and away at 1730 hours with gate arrival becoming 1818 hours, 53 late. Its next duty is the 1900 hours BNE across to PER JQ964 so with a 95 minute turnaround allowance in Brisbane, hopefully that flight won't be as delayed.

A321 VH-OFS is on the PER to BKK (international flight) which is the timetabled 1435 hours that was in the air at 1521. Arrival should be at about 2111 mid evening, 36 late.

VH-OFY is running JQ35, the 1755 hours MEL-DPS with gate arrival predicted at about 1929, 34 minutes tardy.

VH-OYF operated JQ678 from MEL up to sunny DRW, arriving at 1637 hours, 32 minutes past the allotted, so its return as JQ675, the 1650 hours ex DRW is naturally delayed.

VH-OYC is another A321 that isn't punctual, with JQ973 from PER across to MEL arriving at gate at 1709, 64 minutes late, with the plane now on JQ974 from MEL back to PER: this 1720 hours scheduled offering was airborne exactly an hour later, so arrival becomes likely at about 1917 hours, 47 minutes late.

A321 VH-OYD is on the DRW up to Indonesia's DPS JQ83, the 1230 hours that wasn't in the sky until 1554 hours, so arrival should be at 1656 hours, 196 minutes behind the timetable. This was due to inbound JQ82 from DPS not arriving DRW today until 1445 hours, 210 minutes late. Prior to that, the PER to DPS JQ108 had arrived the latter at 0054 this morning Bali time, 199 late.

VH-OYK was scheduled to depart DRW at 1720 hours as JQ689 down to ADL, but this has been put back to the odd time of 1824 hours.

I don't know if any of these delays are due to shortages of air traffic controllers, but irrespective, not a great advertisement for JQ's timekeeping.
