Hello all, I'm new to this so I hope this isn't considered rude :)

Have been looking around at the various tools to identify number of seats available in each class but have found some don't cover JQ.

Wanting to book 2 SC tickets 18/4 returning 30/4 SYD DEN but want to leave it as long as possible to help offset costs, can anyone tell me the website I should use to make sure I still get tickets.

Thanks, for this help and the great info I have gained from this website in just a few days.

ejb,

My only plan with JQ is to do a dummy booking on their website. You'll be able to see everything you need including the seat availability. You could also ring them and ask.

Just stop short of giving CC details if you don't wish to go ahead.

I had a quick look and the only seats currently allocated in SC are 1AB, 3AB & 6JK on the way up and 1JK, 4JK & 6JK on return. ie plenty of availability.

straitman,

Thanks for the info and idea.

Should have thought of that myself.

A question, what if people are booking without choosing a seat / through agents - I thought the JQ website only showed allocated seats as taken when people/agents had actually selected seats...??

This is true; many people seem to neglect/miss clicking the select seats button on the PAX details page.

With JQ it appears that about 2 days before the flight the seat selection option disappears. I expect from this time any booking without an allocated seat is given one, this includes new bookings.
