QF interlines W SQ?? Since when?
QF interlines with a lot of airlines especially when they re IATA member airlines including with airlines outside of One World Alliance, joint ventures, and codeshare agreeements.
But remember that interlining agreements are generally concerned with the facilitating the movement of passengers across separate airlines on the
same and single ticket.
However, some airlines with interline agreements will still interline across separate tickets
SQ is one of those. Some have mentioned CX as well
It is the preceding airline that has to interline for the process to occur. Say SYD-SIN-KUL on 2 separate tickets. Even if SQ accept interline baggage, unless QF agrees to interline, the whole process is moot.
Then Airports like SIN will (at least it has in the past) also facilitate the transfer of luggage across separate tickets without passenger handling the luggage at SIN in a "defacto" interline.
Remember that irrespective of interline agreements, there are a minimum of 3 condition in order to interline
1) The interline agreement which in most cases mean a single ticket
2) Minimum connection time at the connecting airport
3) The connecting airport can accept interline baggage (say USA where everyone has to collect luggage regardless of onward journey)
Someone please advise if incorrect...
