Love to know people's thoughts. Personally, I wouldn't be paying the option to view their cheap fares. I wonder when airlines will start charging to search their fares? Surely there is a $ to be made there as well :)

I don't have enough flexibility to take advantage of the cheap fares all of the time. However if I had a definate holiday period coming up, it would be worth keeping a watch.

The last $9 fare sale, (two Friday's ago) must have caused their system to meltdown. I think they know that if they only send their $9 fare email to 100,000 (?) paying people they would still sell the seats without having to have their system meltdown and they bank a nice handy $3,900,000 of petty cash.

So, the business case:

reduce load on IT systems
bank $3.9M cash
build a loyal base of people prepared to pay

Hang on, I don't really understand your post - but the free upgrade for Starclass sounds interesting??

At this point, I don't utilise JQ enough to get much advantage, but the free annual Starclass upgrade could make it worthwhile for some.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

So where did this come from?

I note it says Option A..and Option B...and that there are two offers for each item, though some are simply a no.
Is this just from a planning/discussion document?

If its $39 p.a and you get 1 free starclass upgrade? Hmmmmmm very tempting indeed.

Quite possibly it's a survey the OP received ...

They may be testing the waters, but it may not happen, or may still be a long way off.

I got a survey when QF were looking at the Woolworths tie in - that probably came to me about 2 years ago, and they still haven't implemented it.

I don't really get it. Is this an actual offer? Where did Flymethere get this information.

Wouldn't everyone join this just to get the StarClass upgrade (if they indeed are flying Jetstar at least once).

Like others, I believe it is part of market research or a survey. Often surveys have "interesting" options (both good and bad) as part of their way of getting true opinions on various aspects of things they want to introduce or change.

Pay money to join a club to receive special offers? No thanks and you can keep your free upgrade to starclass....

Seems unless they get quite a few people to stump up the joining fee their specials are going to flop

Hi all

I received a survey from Jetstar/an associated market research company. It said it was a 20 minute survey (we all know they normally take a few minutes to complete). Well this one took a good 15 minutes. It asked about flight habits, opinions, loyalty programs and then it went through AT LEAST 10 different options for a potential JetStar $9 Club. At the end it asked a few more questions and then asked you to chose between Option A and Option B posted above. I am involved in a lot of market research/focus groups and it sounds to me like they have a fairly clear direction they want to head in.

Stay tuned...be interested to know any further inside info!

I have been surveyed on a multitude of things over the years, and as far as I know most of thoe ideas have never seen the light of day in the market place. So who knows if this will or not - but structured correctly it could provide value.

I too had that survey - it was headed "...being a frequent Jetstar customer..."

They do keep track on their QF / Y customers

I didn't pay too much attention to the survey, there seemed to be a swing toward a loyalty program within JQ from what I understood...

$39 for a Y+ upgrade (* Class) seems to be a good move... I would join many times I'm thinking... Mr!, Mr@, Mr#, Mr$, Mr%, Mr^, Mr&, Mr* etc... ;)

I believe that's being implemented later this year.
