Just got an email from Jetstar advising flights $299 each way between Melbourne and Denpasar from 28 Oct to 12 Dec 07. Went online and got flights easily - return actually worked out to $553. Might be good for a quick end of year trip if Bali does it for you.;)

... and your travel insurance allows you to visit Indonesia and still be covered ...

A good sale though. I do wonder if Bali tourism has suffered from the many setbacks thay've had - or whether the hard core Bali lovers just keep returning and returning.

It has to have been less profitable, since JQ and GA are the only airlines from Australia flying there. I think a JetConnect goes from DRW once a week too though.

Still Bali is good for cheap nights at Hyatts, especially for FFN that you can redeem at one of the Park Hyatts.

There are QF flights between Australia and Bali, on QF metal.

Thanks for that.

Just booked flights SYD-DPS-SYD for mid-late November. Total cost $499.

I'm planning to fly on to BKK, probably using my Mileage Plus miles, 30,000 for a C class round trip.

Sorry but there are still many places that have made their way nearer to the top of my list. :(

As foreshadowed, I just booked a UA Mileage Plus award in business class DPS-SIN-BKK (SQ), BKK-DPS (TG). 30,000 miles and total "taxes" of AUD 26.50. Plenty of availability too.

Makes Qantas rewards look a bit mean...
