Jetstar blows out New Zealand's trade deficit | The Australian
NEW Zealand's annual trade deficit widened unexpectedly last month as Jetstar Airways took delivery of aircraft to start a new service, providing a one-time boost to imports.
The shortfall widened to $NZ3.18 billion ($2.53bn) in the 12 months to June 30 from a revised $NZ2.97bn in the year to the end of May, the statistics bureau said in Wellington yesterday.
The gap was larger than a median estimate of $NZ2.61bn in a Bloomberg survey of nine economists.

I'm sure that the new flights will be a positive for the NZ economy in the long run,no gain without pain they reckon.
