Have you ever felt like you could be doing something more useful in flight?

My friend Spike Mason spent a couple of years living in Launceston and working in Sydney. Last year he decided to compose an album 100% in flight. As soon as the seatbelt sign went off, he'd get out his laptop and headphones and start writing. He says the biggest challenge was not having a piano or saxophone to play - months and months of writing without ever being able to play the music. It's a chamber ensemble plus jazz saxophone, which was already outside of everybody's comfort zone.

It's composed and recorded now, and he's crowdfunding the final production. Support somebody using their flight time creatively!

PS
He mostly flew Jetstar, buying his tickets in blocks whenever there was a special on. His commute was cheaper than some of his colleagues who live in Sydney!

^ Wattey what-what?!
I went to school with Spike, before he’d taken the gamble?/experiment? to professionally musicianise ... haven’t spoken to him since the last extended-circle-of-mates wedding 15+ years ago!

Ta for linkies!

"final boarding call"
From spike :
How many times have I heard that call in the past 5yrs on my weekly flights to Sydney town?
I've not missed a flight yet...

There's only 1 day left to get on board and support my 2018 album release FLYING
so this is your last chance to help me bring this beautiful recording to people's ears

Hooray to my lovely supporters so far - we've reached 92% of the goal
just a little final push is needed to get it across the line

Please support me right here ==> https://www.pozible.com/project/spike-mason-the-sirius-ensemble

You can pre-purchase of copy of the album, or a composition lesson with yours truly, or tickets to the album launch on Nov 2nd in Sydney...

Anyway, loves yas all
