Have you ever felt like you could be doing something more useful in flight?
My friend Spike Mason spent a couple of years living in Launceston and working in Sydney. Last year he decided to compose an album 100% in flight. As soon as the seatbelt sign went off, he'd get out his laptop and headphones and start writing. He says the biggest challenge was not having a piano or saxophone to play - months and months of writing without ever being able to play the music. It's a chamber ensemble plus jazz saxophone, which was already outside of everybody's comfort zone.
It's composed and recorded now, and he's crowdfunding the final production. Support somebody using their flight time creatively!
PS
He mostly flew Jetstar, buying his tickets in blocks whenever there was a special on. His commute was cheaper than some of his colleagues who live in Sydney!
